OK, first off, I LOVE AMIKA products...I've had nothing but success with their shampoo, conditioners, smoothing balms, dry shampoo, heat protectant spray, etc. I also LOVE the way their product line smells, so I was thrilled to have this as an option. However, I quickly found out that this wasn't the product for me. I have wash-and-wear hair because I work out at the crack of dawn before work, so sometimes I'm forced to just add some gel to clean up the frizz in my hair and let my waves go au natural. I was super psyched to try this last week, because I had literally ZERO time to prep my hair after getting out of the shower and leaving for work. So I towel dried by hair, sprayed on some product, scrunched my hair, and prayed for the best. I ended up with a mess. The product left a sticky residue I couldn't get out of my hair for three days (even after using Prell to shampoo, which is basically the equivalent of dish detergent for your hair), and I couldn't style it whatsoever--straight, curly, etc. It looked like I had bedhead for three days, and I couldn't do anything but slick it back into a disgusting dishwatery-looking pony. I also couldn't even run my fingers through my hair without them getting stuck, let alone comb or brush it. It was like I had sprayed some superglue in my hair! I've read reviews on this product and it seems to have a cult following, but it just didn't work on my hair texture. I honestly looked like I hadn't showered for a few days because my hair was a greasy, sticky mess. Perhaps I didn't use it right, but I'm not even willing to give it another try after it left such a sticky residue I couldn't rinse out for days. Amika, what's going on?
