Let’s start with a disclaimer: most hair treatments are more or less conditioners masquerading under fancy names. Not so with Ojon’s creamy balm, which goes beyond moisturizing to actually repair many types of hair damage—from split ends to uncontrollable frizz. A unique pre-shampoo treatment, it transforms into a rich oil upon contact with the heat of your palms, and it’s designed to be applied directly to dry hair. After just one use, your hair will be stronger, shinier, and softer.
Like many before me have said, while the product was certainly effective, I could not get past the smell. It stuck with me for ages, and that wasn't a good thing. No-go for me.1
I didn't care for this. I don't use a lot of hair product on a daily basis, but a little spray here and there. I don't have a need for this. Besides, it smells awful.1
I keep getting samples of products that just aren't suited to my hair type: fine and straight. (Short now, too.) I use a light detangler at most, and have no need for a deep restorative balm. I wish BirchBox would pay more attention to individual hair/skin types and adjust samples accordingly.1
This was not for me. It was goopy and very difficult to apply. The directions say to leave it in for a minimum of 20 minutes or as long as overnight. I left it in 1 hour. When my hair dried, it was more parched and frizzy than before. I had to re-condition my hair.1
I really hated the smell, burnt coffee grounds but I could have gotten past it if it worked on my hair. I use straight coconut oil on my hair every few nights and I like that much better.1
Not sure how effective this product is as I could only use it once. Could not get past the nasty cigarette smell. Maybe if you're a smoker this could be a great product. No thanks.1
This stuff is just too greasy. I followed the instructions, but the residue was just icky. The oil actually made my hair dull.1
my hair is very fine and if i use a product that is heavy or has any weight to it, my hair looks oily for days.1
Ugh, this was a giant fail for me. It smelled awful, especially as it sat in my hair. And it felt really awful to put it into my hair, too. I rinsed it thoroughly and then shampooed and dried my hair as normal, and it was horrendous and greasy and just...NO! I realized when I was done drying it how disgusting it was and had to re-shampoo my hair all over again. Maybe better for super dense dry hair?1
This product has a very strong smell. According to my boyfriend, the smell was exactly like the shampoo he used to use on his dog. I don't think this treatment healed my hair - if anything it made it a little bit more straw like.1
