Let’s start with a disclaimer: most hair treatments are more or less conditioners masquerading under fancy names. Not so with Ojon’s creamy balm, which goes beyond moisturizing to actually repair many types of hair damage—from split ends to uncontrollable frizz. A unique pre-shampoo treatment, it transforms into a rich oil upon contact with the heat of your palms, and it’s designed to be applied directly to dry hair. After just one use, your hair will be stronger, shinier, and softer.
First, not that easy to use. The product is solid and you need to work it through your palms to warm it up into an "oil". Second, the smell is pretty bad. Agree with other reviewers - it smells like coffee and cigarettes mixed! Would not purchase. However, I may finish the sample I received - cause why not?2
I have a natural, curly, kinky hair and it just loves this treatment. I try to use it once a week because it really makes a difference. My curls just drink it up and become super soft and manageable. Some people don't like the smell, but I don't mind it at all. As long as it continues producing results, I can live with it.4
I thought this product was easy to use and worked well. My hair felt softer and was a little shinier. I have course, thick, blonde hair. I used this a couple weeks after getting some highlights and it seemed to help calm down the damage caused by the bleach.4
The first time I used this product from my box, my hair was soft and frizz was controlled. I never thought of my hair as frizzy, but noticed a significant change after using the sample. I ended up ordering the full-sized version and try to use once/week. I didn't notice the same changes after the first time, but anticipate it will be valuable in the winter when my hair and scalp get extremely dry.5
The description says that it's more than a conditioner, but I didn't find it to be anything but a thick deep conditioner. Sure, my hair was soft...but it always is after a deep conditioning. I wouldn't buy this when there are drugstore dupes for much less.3
I loved the shine this product gave my grey hair. It's super hydrating too. Great for dry or damaged hair.
This was okay, but I wouldn't buy it. I have straight fine hair, but this didn't weigh it down. It just didn't have any real effect on my hair at all. The smell isn't that great, but it isn't terrible.3
I was excited when this showed up in my March box, but wasn't that impressed. I have tried similar products that worked better and I would not buy this product.3
I am always looking for great restoring hair treatments because, like most women, all of the styling and styling products take a toll on my thin, fine hair. I am always a little leery of oil based treatments, just because I find it weighs my fine hair down, but Ojon has a great formula that nourishes my hair without weighing it down or making me look like a grease monkey!4
Once you get past the smell, this really is a great product. I received the sample, and after one use I could tell my hair was softer and more shiny.4
