The beachwaver is by far the easiest I have ever used. It does everything it says it does, and the curls end up looking great even without hair spray (I've never had to use it with this iron!). The only thing is, be VERY careful about accidentally pressing other buttons while squeezing the clamp to let your hair out, ESPECIALLY the home button. I've had this happen twice and it is not particularly pleasant. The iron doesn't register this as an error (as it is supposed to do if the user commits an error) and ends up yanking your hair and giving you the risk of burning yourself as the iron rotates back to the home position because you can't stop the iron from rotating after you hit the home button like you can with the left/right arrow buttons.
Also, since this iron gives a very even curl, I've only had to hold the curl for a mere 4-5 seconds at 310 degrees with my straight, long, thick hair while with other irons I'll have to hold the curl for over 10 seconds at about 400 degrees. The curls will hold out even after sleeping on them, and look effortlessly wavy with some sea salt spray (Harvey Prince Sea Salt Mist) for volume the next day! Best second day hair ever!
Just adjust your temperature to lower than you would with a normal curling iron because it does distribute heat more thoroughly than a normal iron, and be careful with hitting buttons when you take out each curl and the beachwaver will be your new best friend!
