Consider this mascara the no-fuss alternative to falsies. It deals lashes a one-two punch, adding both length and volume to keep them looking anything but lackluster. We love how the long-wearing formula doesnt run or smudge, even after a whole day of wear, and gives our lashes a natural-looking curl without weighing them down. The jet-black color makes eyes pop, and its especially great when youre trying to achieve a dramatic night out look. Youll have to convince your friends that youre not sporting faux lashes.
I really really wanted this mascara to be THE ONE, but it's just not for me. I already have pretty long eyelashes and I have sensitive skin/eyes. This mascara was really hard to remove, so it's not for me. They did separate my lashes without clumping. For now I'll stick to my organic, natural mascaras.2
I am probably the only person who doesn't like this mascara. I'm not a fan of the brush and look this gives my eyelashes. It does give length so that was a plus but it doesn't thicken. So basically i just end up with these long spider lashes ...umm no thanks!! and it takes forever to get off...2
On the hunt for the best mascara ever and as a Birchbox lover I took to the shop to find one. With all the rave reviews of this product I thought I surely couldn't go wrong. NOT! I was not impressed at all! Made my eyelashes rather clumpy instead of fan out and full. I like the drug store one I've used here and there much better and it was much cheaper.2
I was so excited to try this but it clumped my eye lashes together so much that it looked like I hardly had any. Then by the end of the day, the mascara started to flake off all over my face. I'm sad to say that I will not be purchasing this again.2
I'm probably the only person that dislikes this mascara, but I am not a fan. My lashes do not seem very long and it seems to clump together some. I do not like the brush at all. I LOVE Benefit's Bad Gal lash, so I plan to go back to it.2
I was not impressed with this mascara i feel that i have used far better performing ones that are the same price or less. It made my lashes very separate and i did not see any fullness or volume at all.2
I liked this product at first but I got fed up with the way it clumped my lashes and it was too difficult to remove. The search for the perfect mascara continues.2
I have very thin lashes, and I didn't get any volume from this mascara. Maybe I was using it wrong!? Just not a fan.2
This mascara is simple to apply with no clumping. I did find that after only a few hours it would smudge. I do not recommend this mascara if it's a humid day or if you use a daily facial moisturizer.2
I continue to be surprised by how highly rated this product is; everywhere I look Benefit's "They're Real!" mascara is a favorite. And I can't imagine why.
I will say that it gave a reasonably dramatic look, although I've used better. The brush is weird; I can see how most people would have an extreme "Love it or Hate it" reaction to it. Personally, I found it made application a little tricky but was very helpful with getting the little corner lashes.
My real problem with this mascara is its clumping, smearing, and awful flaking. Yep, all three! Ack! And it didn't take long. Within an hour or two I had flakes all over my cheeks and getting into my eyes, and I had serious raccoon eyes.
I must point out that I do have freakishly oily skin (without a mattifying primer, powder, and/or setting spray, my mattifying foundation is a giant oil slick within an hour or two of application) and I'm certain that's a factor, at least with the smudging. But of all the mascaras I've tried, and I've tried quite a few by now, "They're Real!" is one of the worst for flaking and clumping.
