This new perfume has a storied pedigree. After reading The Book Of Lost Fragrances, a thriller that details the quest to locate a scent created in the days of Cleopatra, fragrance designer Frederick Bouchardy was inspired to bring the novel’s star scent to life. Even if thrillers aren’t your favorite literary genre, you’re sure to love the spellbinding blend of orange blossom, myrrh, and other exotic notes.
I absolutely adore this perfume. It has such a sensual smell and a great story to go with it. Not only did I purchase the perfume from Birchbox.com I also ordered the book, "The Book of Lost Fragrances" that inspired this wonderful perfume!5
I loved this scent and it reacts well to my personal chemistry. The effect is like fresh laundry that was air dried in the woods.5
I really enjoyed this fragrance. It was rich and had depth, but was pleasant to wear and stayed close to the skin (possibly due to the rollerball application.) No one note stood out to me - It was a well rounded and complex scent. It had good lasting power too. In a market where so many fragrances try to make me smell like cotton candy or bubble gum, this really stands out.5
From the moment I tried this scent, I knew it was for me! It smells like someone dried the freshly cleaned laundry near a camp fire...so smokey and sexy but clean and pleasant.5
This smells amazing! It is strong though, so you only need a little bit.5
I usually throw away perfume samples. (1) They're impossible to open without spilling everywhere. (2) I never like the perfumes. This was a DOUBLE WIN! I adored the little roll-on bottle. So cute, so tiny, that despite myself I opened it and put it on my wrist. Then spent the rest of the morning thinking, "Mmm, what's that lovely scent?" Before remembering the perfume. The next morning I picked up the bottle, read all the info, realized I'd never heard of this brand, and put it on both wrists. LOVE IT! It's floral, gentle, smells like sunshine in a garden instead of smelling like perfume. And it's grown-up, not girly. Can't believe I'm saying this, but I'll be buying the full size!!5
Absolutely loved this fragrance and so did my husband. He even liked to put it on so I would definitely say that this scent is unisex. I am definitely going to purchase.5
I'm not being dramatic when I say that I had been searching for the perfect signature fragrance for YEARS -- to no avail. When that tiny little vial arrived, I wasn't sure at first. It seemed strong. Maybe a little too exotic. But then, after wearing it for just minutes, it became part of me. Absolute perfection. The sample size was quickly used, and I ordered a full size just in time because I didn't have to go a day without it. LOVE IT.5
I never wear perfume. I usually go for lightly scented lotions. The Joya sample bottle is totally adorable and the scent is light and pretty.5
At first you smell the frankensence and myrrh, but it fades a bit and then you notice the jasmine. I imagine that this lovely scent is something you would find in biblical times, definately exotic!5
