This new perfume has a storied pedigree. After reading The Book Of Lost Fragrances, a thriller that details the quest to locate a scent created in the days of Cleopatra, fragrance designer Frederick Bouchardy was inspired to bring the novel’s star scent to life. Even if thrillers aren’t your favorite literary genre, you’re sure to love the spellbinding blend of orange blossom, myrrh, and other exotic notes.
Great Scent! Light but fully developed...sophisticated.4
I thought it smelled a little too strange at first - but after putting it on I really liked it and will be buying it. :)4
This smell of this perfume was not very appealing to me.1
I did not care for the smell at all. It smelled overly floral and sharp. Scents are very personal and this might be someone else's greatest scent ever. The rollerball was nice and I wish more perfume samples were like this.1
this is the worst smelling perfume I have ever smelled. It smells like a cheap christmas tree candle.1
I loved the Joya perfume in my June box. It smells really earthy and natural, yet subtle and feminine. I am looking at using some of my points to purchase the full size.5
I tried it out on myself and three female colleagues, and we all agree that it smells like hamsters. Something about the mid-notes has a definite hamster woodchip aroma, and on me there's an additional top note of mint. Altogether, I smell like a cab driver who owns a lot of hamsters. Not my favorite scent.2
I absolutely LOVE this scent! My skin soaks up scents and I never can smell them on myself. I smelled this scent all day and it smells fabulous, fresh and clean! I have always purchased sweet scents, but after sampling this product I discovered I am definitely a "musk" scent lover. I've already been raving about it to my girl friends. Love it! Thank you Birchbox!5
I am always excited to try new products which is what I LOVE about Birchbox, but this one didn't work for me. I immediately did not like the smell when i opened it but I am always willing to give anything a try. I dabbed a little on my wrist and an hour later I was scrubbing it off. The smell is very strong and it just wasn't working with my body chemistry. The smell remined me of an older woman who likes to take a bath in her perfume and go antique shopping with her cats...I think I took that a bit too far.1
This is a great fresh, light scent for summer. It doesn't smell like any other perfume I've ever tried before, which makes me like it even more. It smells more expensive than it really is. A little goes a long way, and it has great staying power.4
