Romano Ricci, the self-described offbeat dandy of the perfume world, only used one element—Cetalox—to create this minimalist perfume. Even if you've never heard of it, you've undoubtedly picked up its scent. Used as a back note in thousands of fragrances, Cetalox (a synthetic substitute for grey amber) takes center stage in Not a Perfume. The result is elegant, pure, spicy, and completely allergen-free.
I wasn't sure about this since it's sort of an un-fragrance. It does smell good though. I like the fragrance samples because they're great for travel3
Smells great but a bit much for me little goes along way.4
Ever since I spritzed this on I can't stop smelling my skin. It's almost like a "my skin but better" scent. I think it might also layer well with other scents.5
I absolutely adore everything about this product! I would love to buy it if it wasn't so expensive. :(5
I'm normally very picky when it comes to my fragrances. This perfume is the perfect every day/every night product. It's bold but feminine at the same time. I will definitely be purchasing this product in the near future.5
I adore the smell & would love to add a bottle to my collection..but I do not think it is worth the price.4
I absolutely did not like the smell of this "not a perfume" perfume ...haha, the packaging everywhere has printed: NOT a perfume, but the 2nd ingredient is 'fragrance/perfume'...not that that would sway me either way, just found it interesting...but honestly, the smell was awful. I know to each his own, my go-to perfumes are Printemps by YSL Paris, Tresor, Design...so if you like those too, this info is good for you, if you cannot stand my favorites, then this fragrance is probably for you!1
a bit pricey for my liking, but a great scent and i am really enjoying using the sample5
Until I received my sample, I had never heard of Juliette has a Gun and although perfumes aren't my favorite types of samples, I found the brand's name and its packaging intriguing enough to take a whiff immediately. I normally like the sweeter scents (those with gardenia and honeysuckle notes are my usual choice), which is the complete opposite of "Not a Perfume." Yet for whatever reason, I loved it the moment it hit my wrist. I'm not sure how to describe it, but it's totally different - more musky, I suppose (which is something I usually don't care for at all). It's described as minimalist, pure, and elegant - all of which I think accurately reflect its scent. It's fresh, clean, and different. On a side note, since I've been using the sample over the last few days, a number of people have already asked me what perfume I'm wearing and commented about how good it smells. I've already purchased the full-size version!5
This really wasn't the right scent for me. I appreciate that it's hypo-allergenic, but it just doesn't feel like a "perfume," per se, to me.4
