Romano Ricci, the self-described offbeat dandy of the perfume world, only used one element—Cetalox—to create this minimalist perfume. Even if you've never heard of it, you've undoubtedly picked up its scent. Used as a back note in thousands of fragrances, Cetalox (a synthetic substitute for grey amber) takes center stage in Not a Perfume. The result is elegant, pure, spicy, and completely allergen-free.
This is only one note - not multiple like most perfumes - and I just don't think that is for me. I also tend to like more floral or citrusy scents.1
This was a nice surprise and it smelled great. I do wish it was less expensive though!!4
I haven't gotten a perfume sample in awhile so I was excited to get this one. I thought it was just ok..a little too flowery for me.3
I really liked this it was not too strong and very pretty going into spring and summer months =-)5
This is a lovely, long-lasting scent that lasts for quite a while. Unfortunately, while I enjoyed it when I first put it on, the scent is persistent to the point of distraction - and not in a good way. It was just a bit too much for me. Admittedly, I tend to be really sensitive to smells and think most people will find this scent pleasant.2
I thought this scent was very interesting. I had never smelled anything like it before. I thought it smelled lovely, but not good enough for the price. There are cheaper scents that smell much better to me.3
While I did like this scent, I'm not sure it stood out enough to me to make me actively seek it out as something I'd want to wear on a regular basis.4
I'm not big on perfume. I prefer body splashes with very light floral scents or lavender spritz. However, this perfume is AMAZING. It is simple and soft yet interesting and not overpowering at all. It has a natural smell to it. Love it and would consider buying it.5
It sounds like a lot of people are having great success with this fragrance, & I do love single-notes...& I was intrigued by the description...but whoo, this is one of those scents that really doesn't care for my chemistry...from the moment I dotted on just a tiny amount, I was swarmed by a giant cloud of overwhelming scent that didn't let up for hours. Honestly, all I could think of at the time was "too strong!" rather than my usual musings on actual nuances of scent. It was like one hours-long cark honk. I ended up with a migraine & the sample jailed in a ziplock bag. I didn't have anyone around to give me a sense of the actual throw, or how it smelled on me to others, but suffice to say, it's going to be passed on to a new home. Alas!1
I have no sense of smell but my boyfriend loved this unique smelling perfume. I wish it was less pricey and I'd buy it.5
