Romano Ricci, the self-described offbeat dandy of the perfume world, only used one element—Cetalox—to create this minimalist perfume. Even if you've never heard of it, you've undoubtedly picked up its scent. Used as a back note in thousands of fragrances, Cetalox (a synthetic substitute for grey amber) takes center stage in Not a Perfume. The result is elegant, pure, spicy, and completely allergen-free.
The scent was too strong, gave me immediate allergies. I didn't love this.1
I really like the scent of this perfume, but the only downfall is the price, it is pretty expensive otherwise i would probably purchase it.4
I hate perfume. I never wear it. This product? I use it 2 times a day. It smells amazing to me. The smell of it doesn't mutate into something nasty and toxic in 2 seconds. Its dense and yet not heavy. It is good. I want more. So surprising!5
Warning! A little bit goes a long way with this scent. I don't even really know how to describe it. It's a little bit musky and a tiny bit floral. I will definitely whip the rest of this sample out during the winter months because I felt that it was a much richer scent (which I prefer in the winter, and lighter scents in the summer). Overall, it was really enjoyable and I notice that it smells different on every person which is kind of neat!4
I love this scent- it's not too fruity or floral, but not too musky. It also lasts all day and doesn't wear off after 2 hours. I would definitely purchase.4
I've tried to eliminate fragrance samples from my BB's and not having any luck. Was frustrated to yet again get another one. I tried one spritz of this and did not care for it at all - a bit strong and just not my light/floral preference. Would love to trade it to someone who could use it. And SO WISH I wouldn't get any more fragrance samples. But love my BB.1
I was very wary when I read that this scent was composed of cetalox, the base scent for many fragrances, but very very pleasantly surprised. The scent is very striking and unique, and long-lasting. The formula seems to be maybe a little oil-based, as it takes a bit longer to dry on my skin. It's a bit pricey, but for someone like me that rarely finds a fragrance that she actually likes wearing, I think it's worth it.5
This perfume smells amazing and I've gotten several compliments when I have worn it, however the price is a little steep which makes me less likely to buy it.4
I am usually a fan of the more "mature" scents available, but this was too much for me. A friend took a sniff and her exact words were "You smell like an old woman!" Clearly that is not my goal, so I will not be purchasing. Now - interestingly enough, another good friend also received this in her August box, and it smells completely different on her. Like, I couldn't possibly imagine it's even the same perfume, but it must be. So it's possible it can completely change on different people's bodies. Just not the scent for me, I suppose.4
I liked the smell well enough when I initially put it on, but the way it developed over time on me was not my favorite. I was in a hurry to wash it off by the end of the evening.3
