COOLA®’s mineral sunblock is everything we want in a daily SPF. The updated, eco-friendly formula is made with 70 percent organic ingredients and protects from both the UVA rays that lead to premature aging and the UVB rays that cause painful burns. Great for all skin types—especially those with breakout-prone and hyper-sensitive complexions—the transparent cream dries to a flattering matte finish, doubles as a primer, and won't leave behind a chalky white residue. The refreshing cucumber scent gives us yet another reason to love it.
I didn't like this product at all. It went on very chalky and it left me looking ghostly (white) even after attempts at blending and waiting for it to set. Maybe it is just not for me.1
While this product did work for me and I enjoyed the matte finish, it flaked off. The product is too dry and left white flakes on my skin after 10 minutes.1
I used the sample that I received in my June box and it made my face look white. Even my fiance commented.1
This product felt great but was cakey-looking. It left white lines all over my face. I usually just wear a light lotion or moisturizing tint foundation and there is no way I could go out with just this on. I looked like I had leftover stage makeup on. I know it worked well since I went out right after putting it on and everywhere else on me is burnt but my face (oops) but I'll just use my trusty spf face lotion and forgo the ghost-face for now.1
Matte finish or mime finish? Any place that did not have bronzer on it where I put the COOLA sunscreen turned my pores into the most visible feature on my skin; it was almost like taking a giant, blinking road sign and pointing it at my pores. Where I put it over my bronzer it negated the effect of the bronzer and I looked as pale as usual but where I had no bronzer I like like I had painted my face white. I unfortunately got it in my hair and on my clothes. I was able to get the pieces in my hair to flake out (it was in the middle of a braid I put in for house cleaning day) and fortunately the shirt I was wearing was also for house cleaning because the sunscreen is being stubborn. So, lesson learned, DO NOT get this in your hair or one your clothes because it has the consistency of latex paint when it dries. 2nd, put it on over a darker than usual bronzer. However, if you're headed to the pool (to actually swim, ahem) then just don't bother and go with a waterproof sunscreen. If you're prone to big pores, this might not be your product, I was pretty unhappy seeing all of mine in the mirror.1
This sunscreen is definitely not for me. It made my skin look dry and flaky. It made my skin look like I rubbed chalk all over it. The only thing I kind of liked about it is how easily it applies to my face. Besides that, I hate it.1
I do not wear sunscreen on my face because I do not want my face to not get tanned, therefore, unfortunately this product was pretty wasted on me. I will pass the sample along and hopefully someone else can get some use out of it.1
I'm a huge fan of the Coola original cucumber SPF, and wanted to try out the matte version as I have oily skin. Unfortunately, it left a chalky residue on my face that was impossible to blend in, so I ended up exchanging it for the original formula!2
I wanted to like this face sunscreen but it makes me look paler due to the "mineral" aspect of the cream. it smells good but doesn't sink into skin well enough for me to use it regularly.2
I wore this sunscreen on my face and I got burned. I was thinking maybe I did not reapply soon enough, but my regular sunscreen kept me safe for the same amount of time that I wore this sunscreen. I wanted to like it because I liked the scent and texture. Unfortunately, getting burned kind of defeats the purpose of this product.2
