I recently cut off about five inches of hair, so now my hair sits just above my collarbone with long, piece-y layers. Without this styling paste, I'm not sure my hair would get the kind of messy, textured look that I wanted.
My stylist told me to start at my roots (I know that's not necessarily what it says to do on the bottle, but that's what she said) and work your way down to the ends of your hair. I scrunch it, tousle it, and use it on the ends to mold my hair into doing what I want. It's starts out really creamy and you do have to work fast with it because the more you work it in your hair, the stickier it gets (which is a good thing).
You really can't brush it out easily, like the instructions say, and brushing it out loses the effect anyways. I love the way it smells too--kind of beachy and fresh. It makes your hair look styled and textured, but not overworked. It's easily great after I curl my hair with my curling wand in really pumping up the volume and holding the curl.
This stuff is just awesome. Now that I've chopped off my hair, I really don't think I'd be able to get the look I want without it.
