You wouldn’t know it from the state of our makeup drawer, but we’re actually beauty minimalists. Our motto: Why use two products when you can get the same effect with one? This two-in-one lip and cheek stain gives us a natural, understated flush and helps us get out the door faster. The gel formula looks dark in the tube but delivers a sheer tint. The tinted gel leaves a lasting stain on lips and cheeks. Since it’s water-based, it has a longer setting time than most quick-dry stains, which means it won’t leave any unsightly streaks behind as long as you take care to blend well. Use a single coat for a subtle look or layer it on for a more visible (yet still discreet) hue.
I only tried it on my lips, not on my cheeks as also recommended, but wasn't feeling it. I don't feel that it last that long.2
This reminded me a lot of BeneTint, a product I first used around 10 years ago until I decided the color wasn't right for me. The Beauty Queen color reminds me of classic BeneTint--I think the Prom Queen color may have been better for me. I do like the applicator better than BeneTint.2
I got it in shade beauty queen, it's not worth your money and doesn't have a high color pay off. It's not like other stains. Wont work for you unless your extremely pale2
Good design and did the job well but as a benetint devotee I don't see this becoming part of my routine. I do like that it's not messy.2
Not big on blush so was trying it out as a lip stain and the shade I received didn't really change my lip color all that much. On the plus side it doesn't have an unpleasant flavor if you happen to lick your lips and lasted for a reasonable amount of time2
This is a bit sticky and didn't seem to offer the best stain for face or lip. Also, difficult to see on my darker skin.2
When I got this product I thought it would be great. I've owned other stains before, but this came in a convenient small travel tube. Overall, the product didn't really do anything for me. It was darker in the creases of my lips, and didn't really show up well on the surface. It was okay on my cheeks, but overall this is a last resort product. It really didn't do much or add much color for me.2
I've never heard of theBalm's Staniac products prior to finding it in my June Birchbox. I was intrigued that it acted as a lip and cheeck stain. The balm did what it was supposed to do, however I didn't like the color and the stickiness.2
I don't like blush and in a lip product, I'd like to get more benefit than just stain.2
It was hard to use because it was more of a jello-like texture when I got it, which made it hard to spread/blend.2
