You wouldn’t know it from the state of our makeup drawer, but we’re actually beauty minimalists. Our motto: Why use two products when you can get the same effect with one? This two-in-one lip and cheek stain gives us a natural, understated flush and helps us get out the door faster. The gel formula looks dark in the tube but delivers a sheer tint. The tinted gel leaves a lasting stain on lips and cheeks. Since it’s water-based, it has a longer setting time than most quick-dry stains, which means it won’t leave any unsightly streaks behind as long as you take care to blend well. Use a single coat for a subtle look or layer it on for a more visible (yet still discreet) hue.
The concept is great. It just doesn't work as well as the description exclaims.2
I had hoped this would last a little longer. I used it on both my lips and cheeks and just didn't get as much lasting power as I had thought I might with a stain.2
As a lip stain it is ok. I found it too sheer for a cheek stain.2
I'm not a fan of stains, I've tried several and this one was by far the best of them because they did not dry out my lips and yet still kept the color throughout the day. I just wouldn't purchase it for myself because I don't ever use a stain but for someone who does this would be a good one!2
My impression of this stain is that it's just okay. It goes on very, very light (at least on my skin/lips) and I have to put on at least 3-4 coats on my lips to see a difference. The tube says "hint of tint" and I guess that is correct! I was happy to try it out, but I won't be purchasing a full size. I think this product would be better on someone with fairer skin that doesn't wear a lot of other makeup.2
product brought attention to dry patches on my lips and made my lips feel drier after using it. Not a fan.2
This product is just not for me. It was like a gel at first and sticky on my lips. The color is also just not for me. I haven't tried it as a cheek color yet as I already have a lot of pink in my skintone - I don't need more.2
A stain implies permanence. My lipstick is more permanent and absorbs more evenly than Staniac.2
I really wanted to like this gel stain, but the color was just too pink, not red like it looks in the tube. It is buildable, but put more than a few layers on and it starts to get really sticky/yucky.2
I'm not too sure about this one. Didn't really stay on like I'd hoped it would. I've used stains before and it's smoother than most, but just didn't "stain".2
