You wouldn’t know it from the state of our makeup drawer, but we’re actually beauty minimalists. Our motto: Why use two products when you can get the same effect with one? This two-in-one lip and cheek stain gives us a natural, understated flush and helps us get out the door faster. The gel formula looks dark in the tube but delivers a sheer tint. The tinted gel leaves a lasting stain on lips and cheeks. Since it’s water-based, it has a longer setting time than most quick-dry stains, which means it won’t leave any unsightly streaks behind as long as you take care to blend well. Use a single coat for a subtle look or layer it on for a more visible (yet still discreet) hue.
I was intrigued by this product, but not impressed after trying it. I very rarely wear blush, so have not tried in on my cheeks, and in that way I am biased. For a lip stain, I found the gel formula to be watery, and the stain didn't go on evenly or make much of an impression - it is definitely a very, very sheer tint. I suppose I was expecting something a little more noticeable.1
I loved the color of this stain but was very disappointed that it didn't last. The gel formula went on smoothly and I really liked the sheer color. However, the color was gone within an hour of applying. Additionally, the stain dried out my lips.1
Unfortunately theBalm® cosmetics Stainiac is billed as the ultimate beauty solution for color, but it's just not working for me in any capacity. There's a reason why I have products for my lips and my cheeks. The theBalm® cosmetics Stainiac doesn't work.1
I love red lips...so I was super excited to see this product! I was not very excited when I applied it. It barely left any color on my lips and it certainly underwhelmed me. I was expecting at least a bit of color that stayed put. :(1
Not a very good product. Doesn't apply well. Staining isn't very good either1
I prefer corals and browns. This is not flattering for me. I also didn't like the texture. Will stick with my usual lipstick and gloss.1
Even if you try and put this lip balm on thick, it doesn't stay on. It slides around and feels greasy which leads to my biggest complaint: when it finally dries, the color is very uneven. It leaves a light pink line right through the middle of my lips because some of the stain settled on the top of my lip and some of the stain settled on the bottom of my lip and none of the stain ended up in the middle of my lip where I actually wanted it. Bottom line: there are so many great lip products out there, skip this one.1
Didn't see much of a difference in my lips after using it. Maybe because my lips are already pretty red naturally. Regardless, I was not a fan, never really been a fan of stains but it was worth a try.1
Not a fan of the dual purpose here. Sure it may save time, but I am more concerned with the overall effect that a product would have on such drastically different parts of my face. The color was OK, a little to dark for me as I look for more of a natural look.1
This product was not what I was expecting. It reminded me of just clear lip gloss, which is not something I would want.1
