You wouldn’t know it from the state of our makeup drawer, but we’re actually beauty minimalists. Our motto: Why use two products when you can get the same effect with one? This two-in-one lip and cheek stain gives us a natural, understated flush and helps us get out the door faster. The gel formula looks dark in the tube but delivers a sheer tint. The tinted gel leaves a lasting stain on lips and cheeks. Since it’s water-based, it has a longer setting time than most quick-dry stains, which means it won’t leave any unsightly streaks behind as long as you take care to blend well. Use a single coat for a subtle look or layer it on for a more visible (yet still discreet) hue.
Watery texture leaves blotchy color payoff. I wanted to like this stuff but couldn't ever get it to work!2
this product was in my very first Birch Box and is now my go to product in the morning. Easy to use and I love the subtle color.5
I had shied away from stains until I received this in my BB. I ended up loving it so much I bought the full size. I use it mostly in the summer when it's too hot for thick lip products, as it leaves a nice stain of color. When I need more moisture, I simply apply it over a thicker moisturizing balm.5
I love this product. At first I want not sure about it but, started using it regularly. It adds a great hint of color!5
I had already purchased this product before receiving a sample. This product is perfect for me. It is low maintenance and you can layer it depending on how dramatic you want the color to be. I love being able to apply it to my cheeks as well. It is very flattering.5
It gives you a hint of color that is barely noticeable. If you want this to be like lip gloss, then this isn't for you. It just stains your lips with a hint of pink.1
Great color, I love how it goes on!I like when you can use a little of color when you want, I'm not a huge fN of lipstick. The stains make it easier for me to add a little color with out the icky lipstick feel!3
I love lip stuff and wanted to like this but the color was kind of off for me and not very long lasting - it says you can use it on your cheeks?? i think that would be weird .2
This went on as a gloss but then absorbed quickly as a stain. The color at first turned me off because it was so bright but ended up once you put it on, the color was subtle, like you weren't wearing any color and it was your natural shade of lips. If I just want a little color, this is my go to!4
I've always loved lip tints. They've been my favorite lip product for years. I've never had one like this though! Firstly, I haven't had one that comes as a gel-- I usually get a liquid that comes in a bottle or a lip marker. Secondly, I've always opted for more natural shades that are somewhat close to my lip color. I was surprised at how much I loved this hot pink lip stain. It's remarkably flattering. I have used it as a blush as well, but it really is much better as a lip product. If you're applying it as a blush, try drawing a stripe on each cheek with the stain and then use a blush brush to buff it out to avoid creating splotches on your face (using your fingers won't get good results.) Also, if applying as a lip product, try layering it on rather than applying a large amount at once if you're going for a more pigmented look.5
