You wouldn’t know it from the state of our makeup drawer, but we’re actually beauty minimalists. Our motto: Why use two products when you can get the same effect with one? This two-in-one lip and cheek stain gives us a natural, understated flush and helps us get out the door faster. The gel formula looks dark in the tube but delivers a sheer tint. The tinted gel leaves a lasting stain on lips and cheeks. Since it’s water-based, it has a longer setting time than most quick-dry stains, which means it won’t leave any unsightly streaks behind as long as you take care to blend well. Use a single coat for a subtle look or layer it on for a more visible (yet still discreet) hue.
I was very nervous to try this because the color on the bottle was very bright but it is deceiving. It goes on way lighter, nice texture and stain lasts a good amount of time. Just wish it was maybe a little thicker.4
I do like this lip stain better than most I have tried but they always tend to dry my lips out. I works great for cheeks , though3
This works fine on the cheeks, but does not have any staying power on the lips. I really liked the color when I first put it on my lips but it just doesn't last.3
The idea of the stain was nice, color was great. Just could not get over the way it made my lips feel. When it eventually rubbed off, left an outline around my lips. Fun to try.3
As a lip gloss: gives no color, but lips felt shockingly smooth (I'm just getting over a cold and lips were nasty dry and cracked).
Cheek: gives just a hint of color. Would be ideal for those "pale" days. Most of it comes off on fingers when blending in though.
I used this product, as Birchbox recommended, on my cheeks as a blush. It was very weird and did not blend well. I haven't tried it on my lips, but I will not use it on my cheeks again.3
It was too light from what I expected to get out of this stain. I'm happy to own a sample of it though.4
I found this was a great addition of color to my lips, but still looks natural. It wasn't glossy at all - but a true lip stain. I usually like glossy lips, but I am surprised I liked it so much. I would recommend for a pop of color without as much hassle - it lasted a while on my lips and I forgot it was there (unlike many other lip products).5
I didn't really like this product. I was excited when I saw a lip stain but it didn't last very long and you had to put it on very sparingly or it would have a gummy-like texture. Unfortunately if you didn't put it on enough it wouldn't really be bright enough. I think I'm going to stick to lipsticks.3
I found this product nice for a sheer wash of color but didn't like the color as I added multiple layers. It goes on smooth but I doubt its lasting power. I prefer the Cynthia Rowley lipstains.4
