After receiving a sample of the volumnizing shampoo in my BirchBox, I loved it enough to order a full-size version. The shampoo creates a really nice lather, without the use of harsh chemicals. I have normal-oily hair and I felt that the shampoo added more volume to my hair than other volumizing shampoos that I've tried. Plus, it smells great! The only downside is that the full-size bottle is tiny and only lasted me about a month and a half. It just seems a little pricey for such a small bottle of shampoo.4
This shampoo leaves your hair smelling clean and fresh. I have very thick hair, and this worked very well for me. It wasn't drying at all. Also, it left my hair looking very full and feeling very soft. This shampoo also reduced the amount I have to straighten, because it makes my hair look good just after drying. I have even gone a few days without straightening at all.5
I am always weary of "volume" shampoo because they often have too much added to them that does not give volume but takes it away. This was a perfect example. It must be for ethnic hair that is dry.2
I absolutely love this shampoo! It smells incredible and it does wonders on my hari. I have straight, fine hair and when I use this shampoo it gives my hair so much volume.5
I don't normally feel like I notice a different when I use shampoo. But when I used Hair Rules, I could tell my hair just felt better. It is fuller and softer and doesn't feel like it will break apart (color much?). And compared to most other products that cost more, this works better and is a better price. Very worth it. Have to buy a full bottle.5
I thought this shampoo did a good job, but I did feel like it left my hair a little dry. It did give it volume and hold throughtout the day, but I wouldnt use it all the time in fear of it drying my hair out too much.4
Several reviewers have already pointed out that this stuff doesn't lather much. It's not supposed to lather very well because it was formulated without sulfates, and sulfates are what makes shampoos lather. So don't expect this to be a sudsy and foamy shampoo. You have to use a lot of it to work up a decent lather.
If you have a wheat allergy (like me) or have Celiac Disease, don't waste your time. This stuff contains wheat germ oil and hydrolized wheat protein. It caused a nasty rash on the backs of my hands, and for months I couldn't figure out what was wrong with me until I was finally diagnosed with a wheat allergy. I kept thinking my hand lotions were causing the problem when it was in fact this shampoo. I felt this shampoo dried out my hair, but when I realized I was allergic to it, then everything started to make sense.
I'm giving this product one star because it smells pretty. It will probably clean your hair just fine if you are not allergic to it.
I loved the smell of this shampoo and was excited to use it. However, it did not suds up like other shampoo does. I had to use a large amount in order for it to lather.
I have thick curly hair, and only shampoo once a week. My needs in a shampoo are that it help balance my hair (not completely strip it) while getting rid of styling buildup. This answers my prayers. It also smells so good, lathers up really well - you don't need a lot - and does volumize. It also makes my hair feel super soft. Love it!5
I have fine and fairly thing blonde hair, so I've spent most of my 29 years searching for volumizing products that really work. This shampoo is amazing -- doesn't make my hair feel roughed up like some other products, but gives true volume and body that lasts all day. I'm about to order my second bottle -- I'm definitely a believer!4
