Hair Rules, one of New York City’s top salons, prides themselves on working with all hair types, from baby-thin locks to kinky curls. They developed this weightless shampoo to help everyone get bouncy, healthy hair that is soft to the touch. Made with light moisturizers, the formula volumizes all kinds of hair while battling frizz and mending split ends. We’re going to go ahead and call it a hometown hero.
I've been using another volumizing shampoo, and was pleased to see that this one also contains no harsh sulfates, and has aloe in it, which seems to be doing wonders for the health of my hair. I tried the sample, and did everything else the same - same styling and other products, and had really great results. Massively thick hair and with today's heat in the 90s and extreme humidity, I didn't have to fuss with my hair at ALL. That's a slam dunk in my book.
5I am very brand loyal. With that said, nothing has been able to shake my connection to Burt's Bees Volumizing Shampoo. Well, until I received a sample of this shampoo in my Birchbox. This shampoo is perfect for fine hair -- It's moisturizing, volumizing and has a fantastic citrusy smell. My hair is in a constant battle of building long lasting volume, while remaining smooth and shiny, and this shampoo allows it to do just that. You'd be a fool not to purchase this product.
5It had leaked in my box. All of my samples were covered in shampoo. I probably would have liked it better if most of the product wasn't in my box. I have very long hair and it left enough product for a single use. I knew something had opened up in my box, I could smell it before it was even open. Very disappointed.
2I have color treated, fine, straight, limp hair. I wash my hair everyday or else my hair gets oily. I rolled my eyes when I saw that this was a volumizing shampoo. Usually these shampoos don't work at all. But to my surprise, my hair had a bit of bounce in it! No, I did not have big Texas hair, but my usual blah hair had a bit of movement and pouf at the root. For a sulfate free shampoo, it does lather well and my hair felt squeaky clean and touchably soft. But it doesn't detangle very well, so I was left with some knots. It doesn't moisturize my hair well either. In fact, I found it drying when I used it everyday. So I had to used a good conditioner afterwards every time.
One big negative was the smell. It's so strong I could smell it throughout the day. It wasn't a bad smell, but it's not one of my favorite scents either... At the end of the day, it felt more like a clarifying shampoo to me. It cleansed well as to rid my hair of build-up that weighs my hair down. I found it to work well when I alternated it with my regular shampoo (Kerastase miroir) or for those days when I feel my hair feels it needs a boost of volume.
