Romano Ricci, the self-described offbeat dandy of the perfume world, only used one element—Cetalox—to create this minimalist perfume. Even if you've never heard of it, you've undoubtedly picked up its scent. Used as a back note in thousands of fragrances, Cetalox (a synthetic substitute for grey amber) takes center stage in Not a Perfume. The result is elegant, pure, spicy, and completely allergen-free.
There is very little scent. Most people I asked how it smelled could not tell that I was wearing anything at all.1
I didn't like the scent out of the bottle and hoped that it would smell better on. But I didn't.1
This perfume is awful. Maybe because I'm in love with my current perfume. But it smells cheap.1
I wanted to love the scent. The one note appealed to me, but I just don't like it. That said, perfume is so personal and some people probably love it.1
I thought that this scent was horrible yet (fortunately for me) once it was one my skin you could barely smell it except when you would randomly get these horrid whiffs every now and then1
This sample of Not a Perfume was NOT a scent I would wear. It was very strong and I thought it would fit an older woman. I did not like it, but that doesn't mean it's bad1
I only like light scents and this one just wasn't for me. I really don't like getting perfume samples. A little spritz bottle would've been preferable packaging. On the plus side, I did think this is a suitable fall fragrance so it was sent at a seasonally appropriate time.1
Normally when recieving a perfume in my birchbox, I'm excited and love them. This time, not so much. Not only was the fragrance of this perfume awful but it stung my skin when applied! There was WAY too much alcohol in this product.1
I did not care for the scent. It gave me a headache.1
Not a scent for me. It smelled as it promised; like a base note. I did use it to mix with one of my "fresh" smelling perfumes and got a compliment on the mixed scent. Its a great mixer but not appealing on its own.1
