Despite the name, this scent isn’t all hard edges and spice. Designed by innovative perfumer Juliette Has a Gun, it’s a seductive blend of rose, earthy patchouli, and rounded vanilla notes. Richer and deeper than conventional rose-based scents, Lady Vengeance will never be mistaken for sweet.
I'm a "signature scent" type of woman-- I have one perfume and that's the only one I ever wear.
And for the past 20 years (since high school) I've been a Chanel No. 5 girl. Normally I hate perfume samples (Because I already have my scent!) but this has made me change my signature scent.
Best compliment--I wore this last weekend and was standing outside with group of friends. After a breeze went through the woman standing next to me perked up, started sniffing the air and said "someone here smells amazing. I just caught a whiff of an amazing perfume." Because we're close, I made her smell my wrist to confirm that yes, it was me.
I don't usually get too excited about the fragrance samples that come in my monthly box, but I liked this one. However, the price for me is just too expensive. The scent is very pretty and natural for me. I like that it doesn't smell like a bunch of artificial stuff, but I can't justify the purchase of it due to the price.3
I do like this scent. Unfortunately, at that price the only thing I will be able to do is to wear it occasionally from this sample.4
I'm not a fan of Patchouli or Lavender, and the two combined, not for me. Plus it's so strong that I had to wash it off, which is great for people who love these scents, but not so great for me.2
When I put this on my boyfriend sits on the other end of the room. He actually asked me to wash it off. It smells fine but it is STRONG! I would say try one pump but even that is too much. Disappointed.1
When you talk about the ingredients as a list, it doesn't sound bad at all. And while rose, patchouli, vanilla (there is no lavender in here) can be a warning sign for chypre (a highly cloying, scrubbable, give-you-a-headache scent) sometimes it's not. It didn't have the labdanum that is usually in chypre, so I thought I would be safe—it was not. I can't believe the price they get for this. The quality isn't bad, but I can't believe someone would actually buy and wear this. Whatever you do, stay the heck away from me, or I will throw up all over you! I have not been the least bit impressed with this line. The person in charge of choosing the scents surely doesn't have an über nose (I do). Too strong and it's all been done before too many times.1
This is my new signature scent. I didn't think I was much of a patchouli kind of girl, but this perfume has changed my mind. I catch myself smelling my wrist occasionally because I love the scent so much, and I'm always getting compliments on it. In fact, it's my MOST complimented scent and I think I'll be wearing it for years to come. Love, love, love it!5
Not for me. Don't care for patchouli. Smells a bit musky on me. Like more floral scents. Plus the price....2
I received this sample recently and fell in love with it! It is a sophisticated scent that lasts a long time and it doesn't take much. I have had several compliments!5
This is the first perfume sample I have received that didn't make my eyes water from the overwhelming stench of patchouli. I detest patchouli and am thus quite surprised that I rather liked this scent - a bit complicated and interesting and I didn't smell like I spent the day at a Phish concert. Well done. Bonus points for the edgy name.
