Before we ever got our hands on this chi-chi mascara, we’d already heard it praised to the moon by our magazine editor and lady blogger friends. Not ones to settle for secondhand experience, we put it to the test. The verdict? It meets our top three lash priorities: mega volume, serious length, and perky curl. Plus, the water-resistant formula won’t smudge or flake off—we pinky swear.
Alright, maybe wait until you have points to spend. I set myself up for disappointment, envisioned telling myself "told you so," and told my husband this will be the most ridiculous purchase of my life.
I am thrilled to say I proved myself wrong! This mascara delivers AND smells like roses!
I bought Chantecaille Faux Cils Mascara and the Laura Mercier Full Blown Volume Supreme Mascara. I applied one on each eye and walked out to show my husband. He immediately picked the Chantecaille side and I agree 100%-it was a drastic difference. The Laura Mercier is a fine every day but doesn't add the length or thickness of the Chantecaille.5
never again will I doubt your greatness oh $42 tube of mascara. Once you ran empty I said to myself, "This is crazy. I'm not giving in to you again." We broke up, I bought another, and it wasn't the same. You've ruined me Chatecaille. Ruined. It is the formula? Is it the brush? I don't know. But you will always be mine. I will be back for you. Magic in a tube. The Holy Grail (you know what I mean ladies).5
This just makes your lashes absolutely stunning. Great volumizing effect plus lengthening, its a win-win. The only downside is the price.4
Best mascara I've ever used. Birch box points make it possible to afford it though. Smells like rose water. Not clumpy, or too thick. Washes off easy. It's literally perfect.5
Every love someone but can't put your finger on exactly WHY? It just IS. That is how you'll feel about this mascara. People ask if I'm wearing fake eyelashes, never flakes, my eyelashes seem to grow (or at the very least not break off) when I use it, and the smell of roses when you apply it is absolutely D-E-V-I-N-E. I can't imagine not having this little high-end pick me up in my makeup bag to greet me each morning - if you have the $ to splurge, go for it, you won't be disappointed, promise.5
I'd never heard of Chantecaille before receiving it in my Good Birchbox. I looked at the retail price of $42, and thought OMG, not happening. BUT! When I tried it, it had all those 'dream' components that make up the 'Perfect' mascara! I'm telling you! I don't have terribly skimpy lashes, but they're average. I always wear a good mascara, usually Tarte or Smashbox or Dior... but I have gotten NOTICED since using Chantecaille Faux Cils! I've already purchased my full size and am waiting for it to arrive!
The mascara formula is thin, not too creamy or gloppy, so it doesn't clump, and goes on beautifully. It is the BEST buildable mascara I have ever tried! Finish eye #1 and do eye #2, then go back to eye #1 and the second coat goes on perfectly without clumping or sticking. My lashes were OH SO long and very separate, no tarantula eyes! And they swept UPWARD, or "curled" as people say, they curled up beautifully. I really love the look that this mascara gives my lashes.
Another benefit, the formula stays put, and there was no flaking during the course of the day, and no smearing. The next great benefit? Ease of removal! I use Clarins Eye Makeup Remover, and usually there is a bit of tugging and rubbing to get my usual mascara off, but not with this stuff!!! It came off so easily, and saves my eyes from the pressure and tugging and future wrinkles!
The next great part about this mascara is the wand. I love bristles and I hate those plastic brushes, I like the real thing. The neck of the bottle also does a fabulous job of leaving only the right amount of mascara on the brush. I hate having to scrape the brush against the neck to remove too much!
I only have the sample size so far, until my order gets here, but in a week of use, the formula has not gotten thick. It doesn't get in my eyes either, and doesn't annoy me. It feels light and not heavy.
I did shell out the big bucks for this stuff, but I really love it!
This is my mascara-crush!
It smells good, it's semi waterproof, it makes your lashes look amazing, and it keeps them soft! I've tried so many and I absolutely love this mascara. Expensive but worth it!5
I bought this based on the reviews but it did not work for me. My lashes looked just as skimpy as they do naturally. I did not care for it.2
I have tried to work with this product since I purchased it 2 months ago. At first, it gave great length and definition to my lashes, but the formula would almost "splatter" on my eyelids because it seemed like a more wet formula. I waited a few weeks for it to dry down after I had initially opened it, and it was still doing the same thing but the formula was clumping. It ran on my lower lashes, too. I tried using a clean wand from my old Roller Lash mascara which has smaller bristles, so I thought it would be easier to control, and it helped a little. This is just too much trouble to go through for such an expensive product. No thanks.2
