From Priuses to singer-songwriters, we always like a good hybrid. And Chantecaille’s innovative gel liner pencil is the latest two-in-one to rock our world. It combines the ease of a pencil with the polished look of liquid formulas. Each easy-to-sharpen pencil comes with a precision brush for blending and smudging. Water-resistant and fade-proof, the pigment comes in two shades: Jet, a true black, and Espresso, a warm dark brown. You can swipe on a single line for daytime definition or build the pigment for more drama—either way, you’re guaranteed a gorgeous result.
i usually use liquid eyeliner, but decided to try this for a softer look. goes on well, easy to use and i like the brush to blend, and it looks pretty, but it does fade, and smear. probably won't get this again. expensive for a product that doesn't stay put.3
I was excited to try this pencil- I've always been an eyeshadow/brush girl and gel liner has tempted me for years. All in all it's a nice product and the brush is handy but I don't feel like it gives you the gel look. It comes across as a regular pencil. I have oily skin, and the eyeliner only gets me through about 1/2 the day unless I set it with dark eyeshadow (again doesn't give you the gel look).
That being said, I do like the product and still use it. I just wont purchase it again.
I especially like the ease with which I can apply this liner. My only complaint is that it melts after several hours. I was surprised when I looked in the mirror the first day that I used the eye liner because I did not expect to have such a sultry--bedroom eye look. Consequently, I can't use this product during the daytime--unless I want to create a new image.3
This gel eyeliner is absolutely awesome. It goes very well, smoothly. It has a great blending/smudging brush on the other end. It lasts rather well throughout the day.5
I don't wear eyeliner too often, but this stuff might make me a convert. It goes on very smooth and looks great!5
Everything about this liner is perfect. I purchased "Jet". It goes on smooth with one stroke, and I like how defined the line is. I haven't had to use the brush just yet, but I was surprised at the high quality of it. I may end up using the brush for some of my powder liners as it's a better quality than my MAC liner brush.5
