We're kicking the outdated, crunchy curl look to the curb. This lightweight styling lotion gives definition to stubborn curls. The creamy formula delivers fluffy, touchable curls and larger than life volume, without weighing down your hair's natural bounce. It's made with a healing blend of avocado, coconut, sweet almond, and olive to repair dry, damaged locks. Plus, the fresh scent is sublimely subtle enough for everyday wear.
I got this sample in my Birchbox, so I gave it a try even though I dont have curly hair. I used this by scrunching the product in my hair. I have slight waves and this emphasized them, but it wore off after a few hours. It wasn't crunchy which was nice and it left my hair soft. The kind of like the smell, but it last for hours so that bothers me a bit.3
miss jessie's is a great brand... the only gripe I have is that I prefer to use 100% natural products on my hair, like coconut oil and aloe gel.5
I tried this product by applying it to wet hair after a shower, and then sleeping on it. Normally if I sleep on my hair wet it will sometimes get wavy. I was hoping this would enhance that. Unfortunately, it did nothing, and although not crunchy, my hair felt full of product. I have friends with curly hair that love it, it just doesn't work for me. Also, the scent lingers throughout the day and it smells exactly like laundry detergent or fabric softener, which I wasn't too keen on.1
Left my hair oily and heavy. I didn't like it at all.1
This product was amazing in that it made for frizz free, non crunchy curls. The product was light weight and with the right amount applied wasn't the slightest bit greasy. The directions on the back of the packaging said to apply a cap full, but there was no cap to utilize for sizing. I used a nickle sized amount. The only drawback to this product to me was it over powering initial scent, which was very similar to laundry detergent. The scent didn't remain as strong after it dried some. Despite its fresh laundry smell it is an amazing product that allows for you to not have to use any other product, just its simple application and you are good to go.4
I wasn't really a fan of this curl cream. My hair easily gets greasy and I felt that cream did not help that any. It also weighed down my hair so I started using less and just felt like it wasn't doing what it said it was supposed to.1
I thought that the smell was overwhelming and a little cheap. I really like fresh scents but this one went a little overkill. It also was not particularly effective on my hair. It poofed it out but did not definite any curls and left a weird stiff texture in my hair.2
This is probably better when you are going to style your hair, although I haven't tried that.3
I like the smell of fabric softener a lot, so I don't mind this smell theoretically. But it's pretty strong, is right next to my face, and does not dissipate at all throughout the day. It got to be too much, even for me, at some point.
I have wavy hair, not overly curly. It didn't do a whole lot for me. Less frizz for sure. However, it takes a long time to air dry with this in my hair, and it looks a little greasy.
Not absolutely awful, but I won't be using it.
In terms of the sample --- I can't stand foil packets. What am i supposed to do with an open foil packet of pretty much a liquid sample? where do i store that? it's just messy and annoying to me. A small little plastic bottle would be better AND RECYCLABLE.
I understand how some folks might not love the smell, but I actually find it really awesome. A note of caution - when they say to use a "generous" amount, err on the side of not so generous. I have pretty thick, long hair and I find that just a quarter sized amount works just perfectly. Otherwise, you will wind up with slightly crunchy hair and that's exactly the opposite of what this product advertises.5
