The curly-hair experts at Miss Jessie’s® continue to impress us with their problem-solving, hair-maximizing products. Their latest formula helps curls look their best by adding volume while boosting shine. It loosens and lengthens tightly wound curls without weighing hair down. It’s great for the full spectrum of curly textures, from kinky coils to tight ringlets.
I was excited about this product at first but it didn't really do much for my hair. I love when my hair is bouncy and springy and I was really hoping this would add shine and remove frizz, but it just ended up weighing my hair down and not doing much else. I don't really want to stretch my curls - I want to enhance them! I really did like the scent, though. It's pretty nice.2
I have found other smoothing/silkening products that smell better and do a better job than this one.2
I liked the feel and smell of this product but as my hair was air drying I found that it weighed my hair down and left it crunchy when it dried. I did not like the feel of my hair with this product.2
I have very fine, wavy blonde hair, and I think this is for someone with coarse, curly hair. I rubbed a little dab of it over my hair when it was dry and all it did was weight it down. Not saying this is a bad product, just not for me. I think I'll give it to my friend who has very thick curly hair. I did see they sell the full-size version of this at Target for $38.2
I have fairly loose curls, not thick, and beyond shoulder length hair. I used the 2 tbsp the product recommended and it left my hair feeling very weighed-down and with a not quite greasy-sticky feeling, mostly felt like too much product. I used less again, and that was better, but my hair still felt like product was in it, and I had less defined curls. I think that this might be a really good product for someone with dry, tighter curls.2
I have curly hair, but every time I let it air dry it gets SO frizzy, so I was really excited when I received this in my birchbox. I used it exactly as directed, however, I used a little less than the amount advised because I have a medium length bob cut. I let my hair air dry before going to work and it was definitely not frizzy or wild... it was SO GREASY. It looked like I had washed my hair in bacon grease. Not cute at all. I will be trying it one more time before completely throwing it away, this time using even less... I would say to definitely use a smaller amount and avoid your roots at ALL COSTS. It also has a pretty strong, over-bearing floral-y scent.2
Maybe I'm missing the point of this product but it just does not work for my hair. My hair looks the same when I use the product as when I don't. I guess it's not for everyone so I won't be purchasing this product. However, it's a great sample size and the smell/texture are really worthy of mentioning.2
I have wavy frizzy hair and was hoping the Miss Jessie's Original Silkening Creme would help define my waves/curls. Unfortunately it did nothing but weigh it down. My mother put it best when she said "it just looks like your hair got wet in the rain". I was really looking forward to it working! :(2
did not add shine to my hair and weighed it down instead :(2
This product confused me. It claims its "curl enhancing" but that it also stretches out curls. I have naturally curly hair and it did nothing to enhance my curls, but it did stretch them out - in a bad way. I applied the product after shampooing and dried with a blow dryer and diffuser. It left my hair looking like I had curled it with a curling iron, but the curls were falling out.2
