This powerful exfoliator mimics the results of professional microdermabrasion, minus the potential for redness and sensitivity. First, papaya enzymes break down dead cells while evening out your skin tone. Next, dermatologist-approved microderm crystals fade the appearance of fine lines and acne scars, leaving skin smooth and free of imperfections. Finally, aloe vera, coconut, and vitamins B and E nourish fresh skin to keep it free of irritation.
This gave me a HUGE pimple on cheek. I never get the big ol'fat ones except from 1 other product. Which was a knock off Proactive. It would be nice for most people though.1
Super excited to receive this but unfortunately was disappointed. I have very sensive skin and normally use a St. Ives sensitive skin scrub for my exfoliatin needs. The beads we're small that it caused to much scrubbing. It stung my skin and and left it red and inflamed. I had to take gentle care of it after with a lot of mosituring and no make up till it felt better. Please do not give these samples for people who indicate sensitive skin, this is not that. It also was terrible hard to get all the beads off face. I did give it to my sister and she does not have sensitive skin. She said it was fine and merely shrugged when I asked her for a review to give another perspective. Try the sample before you commit.1
I broke out like never before using it. I wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy.1
I exfoliate every other day and I found this one just offensively abrasive. It is definitely a contender for ripping and shredding your skin. The results are nice, but I'm going for healthy skin here, not a horror flick.1
I use a lot of exfoliators and this one was awful. I know the point is for it to rub off my dry skin, but it felt like this was scraping it. Most exfoliators I've used are more like a gentle massage on my face. This one felt like I was putting sandpaper on it1
This made me break out really badly just after one use. I should have known better than to deviate from my established skincare routine. :(1
I get that there's no way Birchbox could've known that I already had this and I don't fault them for it, it's just disappointing. I don't like this cleanser because it feels like it's made of tiny glass shards. It weirds me out and I don't want to risk putting it on my face. I like scrubs- like regular salt/sugar ones- but definitely not for my face.1
First disappointment came from the ingredients list. the description states that the product uses papaya enzymes to exfoliate. Papaya is one of the last ingredients. Second ingredient on the list is aluminum oxide. The product felt like glass on my skin, despite claiming that it's gentle. And it didn't even exfoliate! My face felt scraped and grimy after. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!1
In a word, this product is aggressive. Even though I have very sensitive skin I usually can tolerate most scrubby things but this one was a no go. I used just a tiny bit and applied it to my lower face and it made my skin angry almost immediately and it took a few hours before my skin calmed down. I imagine people with more normal skin types will probably fare far better with this product. And if you can tolerate it, it seems like a super efficient exfoliator. But if you have super sensitive skin, proceed with caution.1
Actually got this EXACT SAME SAMPLE a few boxes ago. Finally tried it this month - and did NOT like it. Very rough, so much so that I had trouble rinsing it all off when I was finished.1
