You shampoo and condition every day without fail, yet split ends and dryness seem to be your perpetual hair curse. The solution? This deep-conditioning mask from cult brand SHU UEMURA. It restores the health of your hair and scalp, and is specially formulated to reinvigorate color-treated or chemically damaged tresses.
I was rather disappointed in this product. It didn't seem to do anything special for beyond what a regular conditioner would do, and it actually might even be underperforming my current drugstore brand conditioner. My hair was still kind of tangled and rough as I rinsed this out and it looked frizzier than normal once it dried (Note: My hair is very healthy and frizz is not normally a problem, no matter the weather). Using Moroccan Oil the second time I used it helped, but if I'm paying almost $70 for a conditioning hair treatment, I expect it to work on it's own without the addition of another expensive hair product. It did smell nice though.2
I didn't like the smell of roses and I didn't notice any added benefit to my hair after use. No more shine, body, or even moisture. I actually thought my hair looked worse after using this. My hair actually looked more dull and weighed down!2
Didn't care for the rose scent and didn't really notice any change to my hair texture or the shimmer it was supposed to do. I've had better conditioner and shampoo2
not that impressed. didn't do much more than a drugstore brand can do. overpriced and I didn't care for the scent (hardly was one)2
My hair felt great after using the deep conditioning mask with the illuminating Shu Uemura shampoo.
It was smooth and shiny after using it, but I thought the musk-rose scent was a tad bit too strong. I hope that using this conditioner did not clash too much with my perfume!
I would not buy this, because I did not notice a difference from my usual hair treatment.3
I love the little card this sample is packaged inside. I think that's the best thing about the sample of Shu Uemura shampoo and conditioner. Also, from the Birchbox description, the shampoo sounds amazing, but I have not had a chance to try it yet. This sample, and it's accompanying conditioner, is for color-treated hair, which I do not have, but I do like how the description says it's for any hair type. These are probably the shampoo and conditioner samples I am most looking forward to trying right now, but I have at least 5 others that I haven't even opened yet. They are going to have to wait. Tonight is the first time I've actually read the description for the Shu Uemura Art of Hair Full Shimmer Illuminating Shampoo and Treatment (Conditioner) and they sound awesome. Shu Uemura has the best little artistic cards that their sample come in as well.3
The product did seem to make my hair shinier. I initially threw away the card it was attached to and the sample itself didn't have directions so I'm not sure I used it correctly. I would have liked it to have a stronger rose scent.3
I like this product - it is a really heavy, deep conditioner that works well with colored hair. It also has a nice scent. However, based on the price I probably would not purchase. Almost $70 for a hair masque seems a little steep.3
I wish there was more in the sample, couldnt get a good feel for the product.3
