The name should give you a clue: this deep-conditioning hair mask doesn’t just soften your strands—it gives them a total overhaul. Designed to be used at least once a week, it works to replenish lost moisture and reverse all kinds of hair damage. You’ll be glad to know that it’s great for every hair texture, from baby thin to super thick. Use it weekly for dramatically softer, smoother strands.
You get the same results from this product as form any inexpensive conditioner. It is not worth the price. Nexus is better and not nearly as expensive. Amika is a great conditioner that is not quiet as expensive as SHU UEMURA Velvet Treatment.1
I was disappointed not to like this. I have very dry fine hair, and am always looking to find new products to increase manageability and provide some glossiness. This product, while very nice in texture and fragrance, just didn't do it for me. My hair felt kind of gravelly and coarse after using. Would probably work fine for someone with hair that isn't fine and with dry, flat strands to start with.1
While this conditioner is full of wonder moisturizing oils and nutrients, it left my fine, oily hair soft, silky, and totally flat. I had no manageability for 2 days! This is a great product, but a little too much for me.1
I fell for the reviews on this one and didn't work at all for my purposes. Keeps hair briefly hydrated but it doesn't really hold up or worth the expense. I just received a sample of the Beauty Protector Protect & Treat Hair Mask and I so wish I would have purchased that instead. A quarter of the expense and works wayyy better. I have super dry curly hair btw.2
The Shu Uemura conditioning treatment did not impress me at all. It seemed a lot like your normal deep conditioners. It did make my hair soft and manageable and did seem to help calm some of the frizz which is nice, but I would never pay $68 dollars for it. It did not do much that a $30 deep conditioner does not do. I was disappointed as I would have liked to try a conditioning treatment that really worked well. Also, as consistent with this brand I did not like the smell of it. Made my hair stinky as well.2
this product made my scalp itch. I liked the product but was not happy because i started itching2
I love shu uemura's products however this one was not for me. Made my hair flat and I do not think it is worth the money. Too heavy unless you have extremely dry hair.3
I have thick, long, dry hair, and already use Rich rewards by origins and really feel that the $20 I spend on that is getting me what I need. This product is not worth 3x the cost.3
I have extremely thick hair, and when I say thick, I am talking about 5 1/2 hours in the salon chair for a full head of balayage. This product says if you have thick hair, you can use it every day, yet even using the one sample (which was barely enough for my whole head of hair), left my hair feeling and looking as though I hadn't showered in a week. I do admit, I was my hair too frequently, and the slightest oily look sends me sprinting to the shower. I will not, however, be sprinting to the store to pick up this product.3
This deep conditioner smells wonderful and works delightfully! I keep it in my hair overnight and it leaves it soft and shiny. Definitely will purchase again, but will need to save a little bit more to do so!
I purchased the Shu Uemura Damage Remedy shampoo and conditioner from their website and will continue to use all 3 together to get the best benefit.
