We’ve always been fans of cream shadows for their velvety finishes and multi-faceted hues. But they usually come with the unfortunate side effects of creasing and fading. Not so with Benefit’s (appropriately named) creaseless cream shadow/liners, which are richly pigmented and long-lasting. Each two-in-one shade blends easily and can be used all over, as a contouring hue, or as a liner. The long-wearing formula clings to your lids and the shimmery finish is alluring, not over-the-top. You can smooth it on with your fingertips, or use synthetic brushes to line your eyes.
Unfortunately, what I ordered was not the color I was looking for. I thought it was the color I had previously owned by looking at the shade online, when it arrived it was much darker. I am very fair skinned so I need closer to a bronze shade than a dark brown. Also - I received an email prior to ordering that indicated for the next few weeks, when you order any Benefit product you receive a free mascara sample.... that was not the case and I received nothing. So I was a bit disappointed with this one1
I love the product but...the image showed a lighter color. I thought it would be light brown and its really really dark.3
I don't use these as liners, but I love, love, love them as shadows. The lighter shades are great for work and the darker one are fun for a night out.5
I have this product in "Strut" and use it as a cream eyeliner. The color is very nice - a slightly metallic medium gray. It is very creamy and easy to apply, and it doesn't skip on the lash line. My only issue is that it tends to start fading after several hours. It doesn't come off entirely but the color does lose some intensity and luster. Otherwise it's a nice product.4
I love this creamy shadow!! I wear it almost every day over my eyeshadow primer(Stay Don't Stray), it's the perfect cream shadow! It lasts all day, has nice coverage, and a soft shimmery effect that doesn't crease! I haven't tried the other shades yet, but I'm sure they're just as awesome!4
It is easy to apply and I love this color. It is part of my everyday makeup. Everybody asks me about my eyeshadow and it last all day. You can not go wrong with this product....a little bit pricey, but it is worth it because you dont have to use much. I will be purchase another one as soon as I'm done with the one I have.5
So, this description Birchbox has come up with-- they DON'T lie! I think I may never use powder shadow again. This cream shadow goes on so easy with just the use of your fingertip and stays put, no creasing, no annoying powder dusting down on your cheekbones, etc.
Just a note that Busy Signal is a deep bronze color. I love it!
I love cream shadows, because they are quick to apply, last all day, and are really fuss-free. I have used Clinique, Mary Kay, and a few other brands. I ordered this product in Busy Signal, thinking it would be a nice neutral shimmer for everyday wear. I will say that the product looks to be a great one, in all ways but the color. Perhaps it's my computer, but the color of the actual product was completely different than what it looked like online. Busy Signal turns out to be a dark, coppery brown, and made me look like I had been in a fight and had 2 black eyes. Like I said, the consistency and all aspects besides color seem to be great. I would recommend sampling this product in a store first, so you know what color you're getting!3
I love this stuff! It goes on so easy and smooth, it's foolproof. You can make it sheer or add more for a vibrant look. It stays in place all day long. My favorite shade is Birthday Suit, it's a great neutral for an everyday look.5
This is my favorite cream shadow out in the market right now. It's shiny without being overwhelming, and effortless: I generally apply it by itself (no other shadows) if my eyes need a little pick-me-up. Feels very light and comes in a lot of versatile shades.4
