This decadent shave cream from gives you a mighty close shave without leaving legs devoid of moisture—and is made in the U.S. from eco-friendly ingredients. And, unlike its distant peers, this formula is designed not to foam up: instead, the rich lotion is chock full of organic and natural botanicals that soften skin. A moisturizing base of omega-rich squalene, organic shea butter, jojoba oil, and coconut oil protects against the redness and irritation associated with shaving, while organic green tea extracts infuse skin with antioxidants.
This stuff has a very fresh and bright grapefruit scent that I loved, but that was all I loved. I didn't feel like it gave much more cushion or protection than a body wash or conditioner and it gunked up my razor. It also left behind a film that felt strange on the skin and was difficult to rinse off.2
I was excited to get shaving cream in my box this month. But it was a let down. It didn't moisturize enough and left me with razor burn. I usually use a cheap store brand conditioner as a shaving cream, and that works way better and is much more economical than this product.2
When I received this sample in my Birchbox, I was super excited -- my shaving cream had just run out. I drew a bath for myself and gave it a whirl. The cream definitely has a luxurious texture, but it does not foam into lather like the shave cream I am used to. My razor didn't move as smoothly on my legs as it does with my regular shave cream, and this cream created a residue on the razor and seemed to get stuck in the blades. My legs definitely felt moisturized after the shave, but the texture thing was too annoying for me to purchase this again.2
i did like the way my legs felt after using it. the product seemed to work well but it had a strange scent. i had the acai grapefruit and i wouldn't purchase that one again but possibly one of the other scents.2
I usually just use my conditioner to shave my legs because I like how soft it leaves my skin after. So this product really did nothing to wow me. It was just kind of meh for me.2
I had the (mis)fortune of receiving this sample in two different boxes, so I've tried it out a few times and feel confident that I can truly review it. Giving it two stars just because it smelled nice, but definitely not worth buying. I guess it's their "thing" that it's not a shaving product that lathers up, but the resulting experience was underwhelming. I had to use a lot of the product to feel as though it was doing anything at all, and even then, I think I might have been just as well off using water.2
Left a weird film when finished. Would rather use plain soap to shave with.2
This shaving crew smells wonderful, but does not lather whatsoever. I need something to soap up for me to use it to shave2
I liked the texture of this product. I got the grapefruit acai scented sample in my box and to be honest I think it smells a lot like rotten tomatoes. I used it twice just because I wanted to give it a second chance, but I'm done. I can't get past the smell. Perhaps another scent would be much better.2
Unimpressed. Didn't care for the smell nor did I feel it was thick and creamy enough.2
