This decadent shave cream from gives you a mighty close shave without leaving legs devoid of moisture—and is made in the U.S. from eco-friendly ingredients. And, unlike its distant peers, this formula is designed not to foam up: instead, the rich lotion is chock full of organic and natural botanicals that soften skin. A moisturizing base of omega-rich squalene, organic shea butter, jojoba oil, and coconut oil protects against the redness and irritation associated with shaving, while organic green tea extracts infuse skin with antioxidants.
Yesterday I brought my product in the shower with me, and tried it out with a new razor blade. The smell reminded me of pez candy mixed with grapefruit, and the texture was not as creamy as I would like to have in a shaving cream. Although it did work well, and I got no cuts or bumps, the smell was off to me.2
I normally use a hair removing cream when it comes time to shave my legs, rarely using an actual razor, but I found that this product did not perform as well as the rare occasion when I use simple soap to shave. In fact it actually left my with more razor bumps than a traditional bar soap. I'll probably use this up, but it's got too high a price and is too ineffective to purchase.2
I don't like it at all, it gunks up my razor and is a pain to deal with.2
As a shave cream, it was ok, but I much prefer the moisturizing and smoothness of a drugstore brand like EOS. I received the Acai Grapefruit scent, and it smelled like grapefruit with a hint of vomit. Like it was almost good but then there was this one note that made it really, really bad.2
I thought this shave cream was way over priced! I did not like how my skin felt after I used it. My hands felt sticky and filmy after use.2
This shaving cream is nothing special. It didn't smell any better than a regular shaving cream nor did it leave my legs feeling any smoother or provide a closer shave than usual...not impressed. I definitely will not purchase this product.2
I'm not a fan of the oil based shave cream. It tends to make me break out2
This is the first thing I have gotten from Birchbox that I really do not care for! It STINKS! Plain and simple! The scent is disgusting and there is NO WAY I would buy it!2
I got the Acai Grapefruit in my May BB, but I wasn't very impressed. I am not a big fan of the scent (it smells like a scent for teenagers), and it was oily and didn't lather enough. I have very dry skin on my legs, but even though it was oily while shaving it didn't help with that either, because it left my skin dry.2
Smells nice, makes my legs feel smooth and moisterized. I like that there are other options to try, I may have to splurge.2
