From no-calorie cupcakes to pinch-free stilettos, we admit that we’re prone to wishful thinking. Another item near the top of our if-only-it-were-real list: a truly non-greasy body lotion. Much to our surprise, this decadent organic body butter fits the bill. It contains a trio of antioxidant-rich moisturizers that nourishes skin and wards off sun damage.
I saw no difference when it came to volume and my hair felt gross by mid day1
Technically, I guess that this product did Moisturize well, and had a good texture. However, the smell is horrible. It's way too sweet and strong for my taste. I guess if you're a fan of bed bath and beyond lotions then this is similar. I personally just cannot imagine liking these products past age 12.1
I have tried other products from this company and they smelled great, so I was excited to sample the almond lotion (my favorite scent).......this version stinks, literally. It smelled like a bad air freshener, I actually had to throw the sample away.1
The consistency of the lotion is probably fine, and maybe the other scents are fine, but my sample was the almond one and it completely gagged me. I put a small amount on the back of my hand and rubbed it in and had to go wash my hands because it was so strong and honestly gross. I don't even have anything against almond scented things, I like them on other things... this one was just NOPE.1
I received the almond sample and the smell was so overpowering I had to wash it off. I gave it to a friend who liked the scent.1
I don't enjoy the Whish products. This one was the same for me as others. I didn't like the way it went on or felt after it was on. I would pass on this product.1
I was happy with this body butter, I like getting these samples especially for use to place in my car. My hands are always dry and I can put this in my purse and go. Overall, not a bad body butter not the most luxurious but it was ok.1
I know Birchbox has been really pushing the Whish products lately but the smells are just not appealing to me.1
This product smells like cheap lotion from the dollar store and works in a similar manner. Not moisturizing at all.1
Body lotion and butters are very personal choices. Unfortunately this one just didn't work for me.
1. Consistency - it was more a runny lotion than a body butter. It just didn't have the moisturizing quality I look for in a butter.
2. Fragrance - the smell was overpowering for me. I put a little on my hands to try it out and the smell followed me so intensely that it started overwhelming me and I had to wash my hands with soap and apply a different lotion to get the smell to go away.
3. Skin reaction - I have somewhat sensitive skin and can develop reactions to some products. I noticed my skin start to itch a lot after application. Another reason, other than the smell, that I had to wash it off.
It's too bad because I really wanted to like it.
