From no-calorie cupcakes to pinch-free stilettos, we admit that we’re prone to wishful thinking. Another item near the top of our if-only-it-were-real list: a truly non-greasy body lotion. Much to our surprise, this decadent organic body butter fits the bill. It contains a trio of antioxidant-rich moisturizers that nourishes skin and wards off sun damage.
I received the pomegranate body butter and while there is a faint pomegranate smell, the overpowering smell was of moldy/dirt. Not sure if this was unique to my sample, or if that is the way it is supposed to smell. Hmm.1
The lotion itself was hydrating but I could not get past the fragrance (pom). Too sweet.1
I am a big fan of body butters - love products like Alba's Botanica and even the Body Shop variety. The sample I received was runny (almost more so than a lotion) and evaporated quickly. Within minutes I felt as if I needed to reapply.
Sorry - this one was a miss.
I was pumped when I read the first three ingredients, THEN got to this part: C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Cetearyl Alcohol, - Total Bummer. This product had such potential. Which I received the LemonGrass Scent. Would have like to tried that scent.1
First, I'll say that I like the concept of Birchbox including organic and natural products in our boxes, and I would love to sample more items of this kind.
That said, I hated this Whish body butter. The pomagranate smell is sickly sweet, and I didn't find it to be a very effective moisturizer.
Tested this product out this morning. My hands were feeling a bit try so I decided to give it a try. It made my hands feel great but unfortunately I really did not like the smell.1
I got pomegranate (which isn't an especially sweet fruit) and the scent is headachingly sweet. Had to wash the sample off. Whish makes nice products. A little light for someone with as dry of skin as I have, though.1
Works fine, but the pom scent is too saccharine for me. I also dont love the packaging, which I admit I do care about.1
While this lotion smelled great, it is not strong enough for my hands...I live in michigan and my hands get incredibly dry in the winter, so need something a bit thicker than this product. Perhaps I'll give it another try in the summer months!1
I love the name "Whish".....but that was all. I used this on my hands, elbows and knees. After it soaked in, I felt no noticeable difference. I reapplied it 3 times until it ran out.... I'm going to take a pass on this one1
