Even when you don’t have blemishes, there are other complexion nuisances to deal with—namely, sun spots, acne scars, and age spots. Instead of just concealing them, call in this gentle gel cleanser. Developed by a leading dermatologist, the targeted formula uses a team of natural skin brighteners, including licorice root and mulberry bark, to even out your complexion and lighten discolorations. Over time, you’ll have noticeably smoother, brighter skin. Now you just need to hold up your end of the bargain by using it every day.
This product felt refreshing at first, but I found out after a few uses that it made me feel very dry. The sample size was generous enough that I used it for a week.
For those with oilier skin, I'd imagine it would be a great fit. But those with dry to combo skin, I'd be wary of dryness.
I don't like this one at all. It has a weird smell to it and it makes my skin kind of itchy. The worst part is the smell though and after 2 times using it I stopped. I just couldn't take the smell anymore.1
Maybe this cleanser did its job OK, but I absolutely could not stand the scent. It smelled like licorice to me, and unfortunately, I hate licorice.1
After cleansing if I did not get lotion on right away my skin was so taut and dry looking. Put it away and then later read the reviews and thought my opinion was wrong. Tried again and after 4 days same sensations.1
I was super excited to finally really nice sized sample in my box! However, when I tried to use it, the smell was awful! Who wants to smell black licorice when washing their face? I washed it off and threw the rest away! What a disappointment! Sorry.1
I received a sample of this product, and initially loved the way it zapped the oil from my skin. However, after using the product for 3 days in a row, my skin broke out. I thought it may be a fluke, so I discontinued use and tried again two weeks later. Again, another breakout. Definitely not for sensitive skin.1
I wish I could give this cleanser zero stars. The first coupld of times I used it I loved it because I could see a difference in my skin. I used it 4-5 more times and noticed my skin getting really dry, so I stopped using it. Little did I realize that it had burned the entire top layer of my skin. I'm going on 4 days without using it and my entire face still feels chapped. It's tender and no matter how much moisturizer I use (I apply it 5+ times a day!) I still look like I have gotten a really bad sunburn and am peeling. I will never use this garbage again and I certainly won't be recommending it to anyone.1
I was really excited to try this product and glad to see how big the sample size was. I tried it out for a couple of times. On the second time, my face began to itch and become really red. I'm not really sure what the ingredients are in this product, but I know that I am allergic to benzoyl peroxide. Unfortunately, this product was not for me.1
This product was pretty much terrible, though I understand it might just be my skin type. I have oily to normal skin, but I used it 3 times (once a day in the mornings), and it pretty much abrasively peeled off an entire layer of my skin. By the third day my skin was red and extremely irritated. It was rather painful and felt like a horrendous sunburn. I did note the sun warning on the bottle, but had not been in the sun at all those three days. I'm very disappointed in this product, and rather disappointed Birchbox would circulate such a dangerously abrasive product without adequate warning to their consumers.1
This worked well for about three to four days, after that I got the worst allergic reaction I've had in years. Be aware of this product if you have sensitive skin!1
