Lulu Organics® Jasmine Hair Powder

Lulu Organics®’s organic hair powder is the hip younger sister of mainstream dry shampoos: she’s eco-conscious, health-savvy, and has vague plans of packing her bags and moving to Portland. Analogies aside, this winning natural formula revives second day locks by absorbing volume-zapping oil. It has a lovely jasmine scent and doesn't leaves behind a chalky white residue.

Absurdly overpriced

This stuff is absurdly overpriced. The main ingredient is organic cornstarch -- here, 30$ for 4 oz., or you can buy 6 oz. of organic cornstarch for 3$ from your local Whole Foods. Which is also where you can buy a very similar dry shampoo with argan oil and lavender essential oil for 11$. I don't see why this stuff is 3 times as expensive as the organic luxury brand dry shampoo I can buy at Whole Foods.

Terrible waste of money
Purchased

I'm not sure what this stuff IS supposed to do, but it doesn't work like other dry shampoos. I have heard great things about this brand, but this product simply does not work. At all.

very disappointed.
Purchased

I can't believe this was $30. I was saving my points just for this product and I finally got it. It looks fantastic for a few hours but that's it. It goes back to gross and greasy very shortly. I also do not enjoy the smell what so ever.

Wanted to Love it
Purchased

I really wanted to Love this product. I want to feel like a grown-up and stop using baby powder on my hair... but this isn't the thing to replace it. It smells nice but it doesn't soak up the oil and let you go a few days without washing your hair. Leaves hair limp and oily. Baby powder it is, until I find the right product. I really wish there was a website I could go to, to swap products with others so someone else could try this.. maybe it works on others. And I hate to throw it away. I have very fine, light brown hair that I get highlighted. Doesn't work on my hair at all. Not worth the money for me. Baby powder works better.

I can't use this product, it has lavender in it and I am allergic to it. But I will give it to someone and they can use it. Thank you

Great product, did not care for fragrance
Purchased

I generally love anything jasmine scented, but this product has a bit of an ammonia smell, and I am not sure why. I have used both the lavender and the jasmine, and both work great, but just did not like the smell of this one.

It was ok

This product was just ok. The product worked really well in the morning, but later on throughout the day, my hair became more greasy and lifeless.

I really wanted to like it
Purchased

...but I don't. It works exactly the same as baby powder does, it just smells a little better. So if baby powder works for you, then you migh like this. I have blond hair that can look decent on day 2 after washing with a decent dry shampoo, but otherwise it's a little too greasy. The jasmine hair powder takes the greasy out for maybe an hour, and then it looks worse than it did before I used the powder. Also it's just as hard to work through your hair as baby powder. I was bummed, it does smell really nice though so I'm sure I'll find a use for it.

Mediocre oil absorption, no scent
Purchased

Like others have mentioned, this has little to no jasmine scent, which is one of the main reasons I wanted to try it. Was hoping everyone else just had a bad sense of smell... :(

On top of that, its oil absorption power is mediocre. I've been using Frederick Fekkai's discontinued hair powder, putting it in at night and waking up with fresh and fluffy hair. Lulu's powder DOES leave less white residue, but it doesn't absorb nearly as much oil as Fekkai's. I always have to use a little bit of Batiste spray dry shampoo when I do my hair the next day.

Overall, I'd say if your hair is only a little oily you will probably enjoy this powder. But if you're like me and your hair is greasy by bedtime, Lulu's will not impress.

not so exciting
Purchased

I use dry shampoo a couple times a week, and was looking forward to having something with a nice fragrance. It hardly smells at all, I would call it unscented before I would call it Jasmine. The product it self seems to work ok, very mess to rub in your hands first, so find I just sprinkle on my roots and rub it in well. I would not buy this again.
