Lulu Organics®’s organic hair powder is the hip younger sister of mainstream dry shampoos: she’s eco-conscious, health-savvy, and has vague plans of packing her bags and moving to Portland. Analogies aside, this winning natural formula revives second day locks by absorbing volume-zapping oil. It has a lovely jasmine scent and doesn't leaves behind a chalky white residue.
When I received my sample of Lulu Organics Jasmine Hair Powder I couldn't wait to try it out! I carried that little black packet with me everywhere. This product does exactly as it says...removes oil and leaves your hair silky and shiny as if you had just washed and styled it! I don't like to wash my hair every day because it tends to dry it out so Lulu Organic Jasmine Hair Powder lets me skip a day and not have hair that looks oily and flat!5
I generally love anything jasmine scented, but this product has a bit of an ammonia smell, and I am not sure why. I have used both the lavender and the jasmine, and both work great, but just did not like the smell of this one.1
I've never used hair powder before I bought this but now find myself using it all the time. it smells great and there is no white residue left over. it really does get rid of all the excess oil. highly recommend.5
I do really like the smell and feel of this product, but it appears to be overpriced talcum powder. I wouldn't be complaining if it had cost $15, but at $30 I do feel ripped off.3
I bought the Lulu organics hair powder in the lavender scent about a year ago. It's lasted forever! (A little bit goes a long way!) It smells awesome and and really makes hair less oily! I just ordered a bottle for my best friend for her birthday!5
I bought this product due to a friend's recommendation (she loves it), but I've been disappointed with it. It soaks up the oil just fine, but then my hair has absolutely no body and there's white residue left on my scalp. It's not a terrible product, but I don't feel that its results necessitate the price. I prefer dry shampoos that you spray onto your hair over this.3
I'm pretty picky when it comes to dry shampoos—and I'm always in search for something better than the last. This powder's great—it's clean-smelling and subtle, and doesn't leave a white residue/powder look when applied. Overall, great product.4
I have tried every dry shampoo/powder under the sun I think. This one works pretty good for the powder type. I have medium/dark brown hair. It does soak up the oil but it's just difficult to get all in to the places you need it. I think it's a bit pricey. I could use baby powder and do a lot of brushing to get the "white" out and have the same effect.3
Still trying to find the dry shampoo that works for me and this isn't it. I just tried this on my second day hair and now have an oh-so-hot combination of oily yet dull. I'm certainly going to give it another shot to see if I have better results but so far I'm unimpressed -- maybe I need to test out the "preventative use" route (I've even read that some people put dry shampoo on at night before bed). But really, I want a dry shampoo that will rescue my hair from greasy disaster once it hits. Ironically, dry shampoo is one product I've never received in any of my Birchboxes (16 and counting) so I've had to do my own trial-and-error purchasing.
Kudos on cute packaging and the very subtle scent. Just wished it worked on my hair.
It's a good product and makes my hair manageable after a day or two of no washing. But I agree with other reviewers that it is not necessarily as helpful after your hair is already dirty- more as a preventative measure. It does a good job of prepping my hair for braids or styles that need more grip3
