Instead of shelling out for an appointment at a fancy salon, get a salon effect with this pro-quality styling cream. The light formula works on both wet or dry hair and dries to a flexible—never sticky—hold. It works equally well on straight, curly, or wavy hair, plus the sculptural black bottle adds a touch of rock star to your bathroom shelf.
This product might be nice for those of you who have thinner hair and you're looking for a light hold but if you're like me and have thick hair that requires some muscle in a styling product, this stuff was ineffective. It didn't hold much at all and left my hair feeling very greasy. It came off as a fancy smelling, less effective version of your grandfather's old favorite, Brylcreem (except Brylcreem holds).3
For my personalized styling, this product didn't really do it for me. A bit too wet looking and crispy. I know plenty that would prefer that, but I liked last month's product much better.2
I'm short and stubborn (my hair that is), and a small amount of Oribe Crème goes a very long way. Weather it's being a applied right out of the shower or first thing in the morning, it does the trick. No LA LOOKS here. Just a nice flexible hold that doesn't look to manicured. Dig it.4
I was very impressed by this product. I like to style my hair in a classic manner, similar to that of John Hamm, part slightly to the left, flicked up slightly in the front. The cream was easy to spread through my hair and it has the right amount of hold and shine. Other creams and gels did little to reduce frizz but that was not the case with Oribe, I definitely recommend it.5
I enjoyed the product, but I'm just not one to spend that much on hair products.4
The first time I tried using the product, I used the small dime-size amount that is prescribed. However, it didn't have enough hold for my shorter, finer hair. The next time I used it, I applied more product, but found that my hair started to clump together more and stick together. It also felt crispy to the touch. Sounds like it's better for longer hair, but not for me.3
I'm a little rough on this gel because I'm more of a pomade guy; not too fond of hard and crunchy hair. I will say this though, despite having stiff and locked hair, my hair and scalp were still able to breathe unlike with most products.3
Great, subtle scent. Pretty strong hold. Easy on the scalp.4
I have never really used styling cream since I have such fine hair, but I used this product at a friend's house and have been hooked ever since. Oribe products are incredible and this helps my hair hold a curl (a little bit of a curl, nothing too crazy for my hair) or will keep out the frizz if I wear it straight. Great product, definitely worth the price and I couldn't recommend it highly enough!5
Its a great thin product for keeping humidity and flufiness at bay but it didn't seem strong enough to hold my hair when slicked back. It's an every day tamer type of cream. Maybe would be better on someone with thinner hair. Smells good.4
