When it comes to hair stylists, Oribe is something of a bad boy. The tattooed star is known for working with the likes of Jennifer Lopez and plenty of other pop icons. That’s why you should take his word for it that this cream is the difference between the usual out of control mop and a polished coif. The multitasking formula acts as both a leave-in conditioner and a styling cream, helping to calm and smoothe coarse, thick, or fuller hair.
I'm not sure what I was expecting with this cream, but I was pleasantly surprised with how soft and shiny it left my hair after using just a small amount of it. Since it was marketed as a styling cream, I did expect a bit more hold to it, but when I'm looking to leave my hair a bit loose, this is a great product to use.4
This product gave a great, clean shine to my hair. Not too fond of the smell. But it wasn't over powering. And, the look was worth it.4
This stuff smells amazing. Had women around my office sniffing me out more than any new cologne I've used. Hair is shiny and smelling nice. Wish it was a little more cost effective, but a little goes a long way judging from the sample I received in my April birchbox. Will definitely pick this up and now interested in checking out Oribe's shampoo/conditioner.4
This worked great -- too bad the full-size is a bit pricey. You can't beat a product that works for The Boss.4
i've been happy with all of the Oribe products. like the name says, it leaves your hair with a shiny finish, so if you prefer a matte look, this may not be for you. leaves your hair feeling soft and non-sticky.4
I have crazy hair. I don't like to pat it down either or comb it. So this baby does wonders as it keeps my hair looking like I rolled out of bed...4
I didn't use it for myself. But my girlfriend likes it.4
I don't know why it took me so long to realize this wasn't just a styling cream, but a leave-in conditioner. I find it very moisturizing for my hair, making it soft and shiny. It's part of my routine now.
Just a note: if you are trying to use it with Oribe's Balm D'or Heat Shield, the formulas don't work together. If used together, they start to curdle on the hair, forming sticky, white "boogers" (for lack of better term) that you have to rinse out. My advice is to choose one or the other before you blow dry; don't try to use both.
I started going gray very young, and although I color my hair, the texture has changed because of this. My hair can be coarse and dry-looking, and if I don't condition well, the blond locks can look more like hay. When my stylist recommended this cream, I balked at the price. But it works wonders on my hair--it makes it smooth, shiny, well-behaved, and healthy. It gives me a little texture and volume, too. I just use a little, so a tube lasts a long time. Unlike other products I've used (I'm talking to you argan oil), it doesn't make my hair at all stringy or oily either.5
While the shampoo and conditioner fall short, this product is amazing. If it's too heavy, try the Light version which is unfortunately not sold on Birchbox.5
