When it comes to hair stylists, Oribe is something of a bad boy. The tattooed star is known for working with the likes of Jennifer Lopez and plenty of other pop icons. That’s why you should take his word for it that this cream is the difference between the usual out of control mop and a polished coif. The multitasking formula acts as both a leave-in conditioner and a styling cream, helping to calm and smoothe coarse, thick, or fuller hair.
I don't know why it took me so long to realize this wasn't just a styling cream, but a leave-in conditioner. I find it very moisturizing for my hair, making it soft and shiny. It's part of my routine now.
Just a note: if you are trying to use it with Oribe's Balm D'or Heat Shield, the formulas don't work together. If used together, they start to curdle on the hair, forming sticky, white "boogers" (for lack of better term) that you have to rinse out. My advice is to choose one or the other before you blow dry; don't try to use both.
I started going gray very young, and although I color my hair, the texture has changed because of this. My hair can be coarse and dry-looking, and if I don't condition well, the blond locks can look more like hay. When my stylist recommended this cream, I balked at the price. But it works wonders on my hair--it makes it smooth, shiny, well-behaved, and healthy. It gives me a little texture and volume, too. I just use a little, so a tube lasts a long time. Unlike other products I've used (I'm talking to you argan oil), it doesn't make my hair at all stringy or oily either.5
While the shampoo and conditioner fall short, this product is amazing. If it's too heavy, try the Light version which is unfortunately not sold on Birchbox.5
Bought the travel size to try it out. Works as well as my Keratase products. I wanted to change things up since I've been using Keratase forever.5
I loved this conditioner so much I bought a full size bottle. No, it wasn't cheap (by hair product standards), but it keeps my hair from looking dry and I use it in place of other hair products which tend to weigh my hair down and give me a greasy look. A little goes a VERY long way. I've had my full-size bottle for over a year now and I use it daily.5
I love oribe products and this is no exception. Leaves hair soft and shiny , with added volume too. I have fine hair so only used a tiny amount in damp hair.5
got this for my boyfriend and he loved it. it was super moisturizing for his dry skin. i highly recommend if you are looking for a similar product5
The smell is light and heavenly. The feel and consistency is like pure silk. It's not too heavy but conditions just enough to remove tangles and helps to tame frizzies.5
This is the only product I've ever used (and I've used a LOT) that has tamed my dry tresses to a point where I can let it air dry and go. I hate frizz. So, up until this product, I always either used heat styling (curling or flat iron) to press out the frizz (accompanied by heat protecting product, of course) OR tied it up in a bun and went (still often curling the little frizzed up pieces that stuck out.
This stuff is the bomb!! A little to my towel dried hair works magic. I rub it between my hands and apply it starting midway and working down, then over the head with anything left over, then I take a wide toothed comb for more even distribution.
And right now, my hair is a little more processed that normal, which speaks volumes for this product!! Love it.
It leaves my hair wavy and frizz-free. It's not styled, of course, as if I had curled it or whatever, but it's perfectly fine leave the house. Highly suggest this.
It IS expensive. A little does goe a long way though. And if your time is worth it, get this gem of a product!
This stuff really helps to keep my over worked hair moisturized. I love using it before blow drying and even on days when I let my hair air dry. It works wonders on fly always too.5
