When we first started painting our nails, we relied on bottles of acetone to whisk away old polish. Nowadays, even the thought of inhaling smelly fumes is enough to give us a headache. That’s why we’re hooked on these biodegradable pads. Instead of chemicals, they’re soaked with a sweet-smelling citrus solution that clears away old polish and leaves our nails moisturized and conditioned.
Non-acetone removers and I have had quite the we-once-had-a-one-night-stand-and-neither-of-us-should-ever-talk-about-it-especially-since-it-was-so-bad relationship. So when I saw this sample in bbox, I had a don't-you-take-a-step-near-me-I've-got-my-eye-on-you feeling about the situation.
Anywho. Let's fast forward to the moment of enlightenment.
I was in a hurry and I couldn't find my bottle of pure acetone and I was supposed to watch my mom's friend's daughter like I've done every Tuesday night for almost a year. We were going to do our nails that night and I had on some polish that I had a bad feeling about its ease in removal. In that blurry moment, I grabbed for my sample of LA FRESH, stuffed it in my nail polish bag, and hurried out the door.
At her house, I tore open the packet and I was surprised to see how thin and big the sheet was! I was expecting something along the lines of an Oxy-clean pad in thickness but what I found was almost a Kleenex sized cloth that wasn't dripping with excess solution. The scent was definitely aromatic and citrusy but I wouldn't call it the best of smells; I had no complaint or complement about it. I began to use the sheet to rub off the nail polish as fast as I could (being used to acetone and working with it in labs train you to work quickly with it because it evaporates), but to my surprise (again, I know, this stuff kept giving me "wow!!!" experiences) the sheet didn't dry up and it continued to remove ALL of my nail polish with ease, leaving no lint stuck to my nails, granted, it wasn't as lightening fast as industrial strength acetone. To top it off, the oils felt wonderful as opposed to the icy chill and resulting visibly dry skin and nails that acetone usually left behind.
Basically, the heavens parted, the dove came down, and a voice proclaimed it's wonders and It didn't matter one bit that there may have been something slightly erie smelling on the other side of the lake because it had nothing to do with the polish remover's purpose.
These are wonderful.
They leave the nails moisturized and glowing like freshly buffed natural nails!
The scent is nice and fresh and not toxic like most removers, but you might have to rub a little bit harder! It will be worth the work, as your nails will look beautiful after removing the polish.
I even feel comfortable letting my daughter remove her own polish, as this is really true ...NON-Toxic!
Try them today!
I absolutely love these nail polish remover pads. They smell so good and they work really well! I would definitely recommend them.5
i love this product! how inventive! its the perfect size to drop in my purse. and it smells delicious5
These were not at all what I was expecting!!! They are great! They worked really well and are not messy at all! I was able to remove my polish with out my husband yelling at me to put the remover away. The scent was nice and light and smelled nothing like polish remover.5
I was a little skeptical when this came in my Birchbox. I didn't think one small pad would be enough for all ten nails, and it was. Loved that there wasn't the nasty acetone smell. This product really did leave my nails feeling soft after. Loved it.5
I hadn't heard about this product...until I got them in this months BB. The smell is great and the pads work miracles even on a thick layer of polish.5
This is the first product I actually purchased in the full size. The pads really do nourish your nails, leaving them smooth and shiny. They also have a great smell! Definitely buy them to avoid the polish remover-and-cotton ball alternative.5
I hate the smell of regular nail polish remover, but most of the acetone-free ones I've found don't really work. The La Fresh pads work like a dream! One pad easily takes the polish off both hands. The smell is pleasant and not overpowering.5
I keep these at work. When the nail polish chips, they work very quickly at taking the polish off. And it doesn't have that real acetone smell. I've given a couple to co-workers when they also are in need.5
