Sometimes you just need to get things down on paper. Field Notes are there for when you’re out and about, whether that’s on a road trip, in a bar, or exploring a new city. With a vintage design inspired by agricultural memo books of the early 20th century, these journals are small and flexible enough to fit in a back pocket. The set also comes with a pair of colorful retro clic pens so you’re prepared whenever inspiration strikes.
Didn't think i would ever use these at first but threw them in my car and they have been so handy when i need to jot down a note or a number. Works great to just write down what you need while you think of it and just throw the book in your pocket and bring in the store with you.4
I really do like the though of taking these with me out into the wilderness and camping for weeks using my little note pads to gain a strategic advantage against Mother Nature herself...
I think we are reaching here...and in reality it's just a couple pads of paper with one of the cheapest pens known to man.
I think these mini notebooks are fantastic. In an age where everyone is communicating via email, instant messages, and social media I find these notebooks to be a friendly reminder of days yore. Remember when you had good penmanship? I use them at work mostly and they have helped me remember things much more so than say an iPhone alert. Let's get back to writing things down!5
These are a must for anyone who is a note taker. These fit great in pocket and hold up to rough use. Buy and you won't be disappointed.5
I was surprised to find this in my Birchbox. These memo books are nice as far as memo books go, but in the end it's still just a pad of paper.
I would not purchase only because the price is a little too high. I would consider if the books contained about twice as many pages as they do -- but they don't.
Also, while I appreciate that the pens look nice, they are somewhere between standard and sub-par as far as quality, which I find surprising considering the price. I would hope that they would be at least as good as the Bics I have laying around everywhere.
The notebooks are nice but the pens are very cheap. Also this is a fairly useless item for me when I do most now taking electronically.1
I shared these with my Mother, she loves to use these, carries them in her purse so she can make notes, I added mine to my overnight backpack so that I would have something to write with and in, going to buy a few more, great product!4
The books are decent, a little on the long side for my preferences, but the pens definitely leave something to be desired. I found they were pretty much entry-quality pens, not like cheap BIC writing utensils. Overall, a meh accessory for me.3
This came in my first Birchbox; it was a gift and thought I'd be getting lotion and makeup. I was very nervous, but when I saw these, I knew this was going to be a cool subscription.
I am retired Army. You always carry a notepad and paper. The same is true for the professional word. If it is worth listening to, it is often worth taking notes. Even if not useful, it presents a serious and pragmatic image. I usually use Rite In The Rains, but the thinness of these fit better in my Versapack. The pens are not Zebra, but they write with a smoothness.
This is a really important product. The smart phone is not ideal for notes; we don't absorb information in such a linear and simple manner; it takes a free hand and pen and paper to transcend transcription into real note taking.
These are a great size. Thin is a lot easier to carry. Rite In The Rains need a size like this.
I have no need for this thing. I suppose if you are a note taker this would be fine, but I use my smart phone for all those needs. Sometimes these lifestyle full size products are ok but I would rather get product samples.1
