How about infusing a little wit and warmth to your morning grind? This alarm dock wakes up iPhone users in sleek, retro style. This sleek design melds slim technology with a timeless ideal from nightstands past. Trust us, even if it feels like just another morning in “Groundhog Day,” this is one clock you’ll never want to smash.
Its a block of wood you set your phone on. Any phone really can be used for this. Literally any phone because it is a block of wood with a hole in the back that you put your plug through. In purchasing this I thought it was an alarm that you plugged you phone in and a speaker amplified your alarm. Nope, it is a block of wood in the shape of an alarm clock that you set your phone on. I'm going to start selling a Baseball glove Alarm Dock, just set your phone in the pocket of the glove and then thread your charger cord through. Boom essentially the same think as this, except it's better because you could use it as a baseball glove too.
Don't buy this product. It is stupid.
I can't even understand why someone would waste good money on this thing. I used my points on this and it is not even worth returning. Just of block of would or whatever it is made of. The green color is pretty but I just don't understand the point of it. Don't waste your time.1
Saw this on Birchbox and thought it would be cool to try out. I was disappointed on a few counts:
1) As a few reviews have mentioned, this is cut to precisely fit an iPhone meaning, if you use a case (like I and 75% of smartphone owners do), the phone will fit, but will look nowhere near as pretty as it does on the box.
2) The hole that you're supposed to fit your cable through is narrow and goes at a right angle, meaning it's tricky to get the cable to appear out the other end. Once you do get it in there, there's nothing to hold it in, meaning that when you want to take your phone out or put it in, you'll need to grip the base, hold the charge cable, and disconnect your phone. Also be careful, because the cable might slip out the back. The product name is a little misleading, since when most people think of phone docks, they think of something with the cable attached or built-in.
3) Areaware makes a horizontal clock app that you're supposed use with the dock. I didn't download it because it only has 2.5 stars. All the reviews I read for it said that it either has no alarm function, or the alarm doesn't make a sound. Seriously? The product is called "Alarm Dock."
I'm returning this product and waiting for something better to come along. In the meantime I'll just keep leaving my phone on my nightstand when I go to bed.
I owned one of these for my iPhone 4 and was kind of bummed when I had to stop using it when I purchased my iPhone 5. This looks great on my night table.5
This product is really unique and stylish. Don't like app that came with it. Adds a great look to my night stand.5
I bought this as a gift for my boyfriend, but he doesn't use it because the phone won't fit if you have a case on it. He's got one of those large cases that's a pain to take off. I should probably look into returning this item.2
I have this alarm dock in the natural wood version, and I love it! It's really cute on my bedside table, and I downloaded an app called "Wake" to be my alarm. The only catch is that you can't fit your phone in PERFECTLY if it has a case on it; the dock is designed for a naked iPhone! This isn't a problem for me since I have a case that pops on and off, but I thought it was worth mentioning. All in all, very cool-looking!4
I really like the way the dock looks, but had I known that Areaware's alarm clock app doesn't work, I would have passed.4
