Contouring your features doesn’t require makeup artist supervision—all you need is this two-in-one compact from Jouer. The matte honey bronzer is perfect for giving even the most cubicle-bound skin a healthy glow, as well as cheekbone definition. The mattifying translucent powder hides flaws while absorbing excess oil.
I've had this product for awhile, and what I don't love about it is that the top of the "cake" of the product seems to develop a hard, slippery surface after a month or two.
I had been using it for about a month, when I noticed my brushes were no longer picking up product. As I continued to swipe my brush across it, I noticed the top sort of had some streaky "hardness" now across the top of the powder, preventing my brush from picking up powder.
I repurchased to try it again, as I did like the product, but it happened the second time too! Not a fan, Jouer.
Note: I wash my brushes at least once a week, so I know it wasn't a buildup of facial oil or products from the brushes causing it.
I had the same experience as other reviewers. I couldn't get any of the product on my brush. I noticed the top layer on the makeup seemed to get slick, so I scraped off the top layer and now I can get the product out no problem. I'm not sure what kind of overlay Jouer is putting on its products but they need to stop. I had to do the same thing with my mortifying bronzer. Once you get that top layer off the product is great though.
4I am so upset with this purchase. The powder felt chalk like and barely adhered to the brush. I tried two different types of brushes. This compact is so small its difficult even trying to adhere the make up to the brush for this reason alone. When I opened the compact the glue had come undone and nearly dropped the make up. It would probably have been better suited as trash.
1I had such high expectations for this because I love the sleek packaging and thought this would be convenient for traveling. Unfortunately, the product is so densely packed that very little came off with a brush when I tried to apply it. I tried many different types of brushes, but very little product picked up. I had to press down very hard and get it to transfer. Considering I don't have this problem with other pressed powders (even drugstore brands) I will not be repurchasing.
2I actually bought this because it was suggested when I was purchasing the tinted moisturizer and I was looking for a different pressed powder than what I've used for years. I don't love it or hate it. It's good for a last minute cover up but I don't really see the product being used, which is weird. I do wish it came with a sponge or a hidden brush so I didn't have to always have a tool to apply it to my face.
3I LOVE the tinted moisturizer by Jouer! When i was ordering my full size of the moisturizer this popped up as a suggestion. The only reason I clicked on it was because i have been looking for a bronzer. This is much smaller than it looks... and it really wasn't great for a bronzer. I liked the powder part though.
