The artist formerly known as Prince inspired this daring new purple lacquer. Named after the singer’s 1984 hit (yes, we know our musical trivia), it turns up the volume with tons of multi-colored glitter. But don’t let the name scare you—the solid base is dark enough to keep the sparkles from feeling over-the-top.
I wish these colors lasted. The selection of colors and the idea behind a formaldehyde free nail polish is so appealing, however it never lasts for more than a day. The formula is extremely runny, so when you apply it on your nail it is almost always a gunk glob of a mess. If they can fix their glitter to polish radio, these would be my first choice in nail polish.3
I was so excited to get this nail polish because I thought that it looked so, so pretty online, and I'd waited to buy it for a long time. I went to the salon to get my nails done, brought this along (so you know it wasn't a user error), and they looked great! Unfortunately, they began chipping THAT NIGHT, and continued to chip the day after that and the day after that. I'm so disappointed in this product, especially when you factor in the price.2
I have had my eye on this nail polish for a long time. I love nail polish and I love prince. I love purple, and I love glitter. How could it possibly go wrong?
It is pretty. Not sure it was quite worth the splurge. The formula is less than satisfactory for me. It took 3 coats over a base coat to achieve the desired coverage and level of sparkle. The purple is muddy and muted seeming almost brown or black from a distance, and the glitters sort of sink into the polish, not really catching the light, just sort of making it lumpy and looking like it has some multicolored chunks.
Also, even though I used a top coat that was supposed to be chip resistant, the manicure chipped within 2-3 days on multiple fingers. I kept redoing it one finger at a time trying to hold things together because I am accustomed to my manis that I do myself lasting a bit longer most of the time. This one didn't hold up.
I'm currently trying this product on my toes...appears to at least be holding up a big better against chips...but overall, it isn't quite all I had dreamed of.
This was my first Deborah Lippmann nail polish purchase, and i wasn't disappointed one bit! I had heard that her glitter polishes were amazing--and they are! This polish has a beautiful array of various purple hue glitters that stay on the nail--it doesn't chip for days. It is just a lovely grownup glitter polish. :)5
This is the most glitter I have seen in a nail polish, plus even one coat is dark so you don't have to apply a million times to get a deep color.5
I did not like how this went on, the coverage was onto great and every finger had different amounts of glitter. I had high hopes but was disappointed.1
Are you tired of buying glittery nailpolishes that skimp on glitter? Well, Deb Lippmann loads it on, for maximum effect. It's nothing short of dazzling. For extra oomph, try a color (purple, gray) underneath the glitter polish. At the very least, use a layer of clear polish first - you don't want the glitter to stick to your nails when you try to get it off. It can take a little longer to remove because of all the glitter, but who cares - it's a small price to pay for fabulous disco nails.5
Deborah Lippman polishes are expensive but worth it. This polish looks great with a clear or a matte top coat. The colored base means you don't have to use several layers to get the solid polish look you want.5
Deborah Lippmann's glittery lacquers are amazing. You only need two coats for the desired effect. It will be really textured if you skip the topcoat, but if you decide to apply one, you'll get super-shiny, glossy nails. It's a great color.5
This is such a pretty color, probably one of my favorites from my Deborah Lippmann collection. It is a purple base with multi-color glitter. Whenever I bring it to the salon I always get complements from everyone. It is very unique and lasts a really long time on your nails. DL is definitely my go-to nail brand.5
