Maine isn’t just one of those states you drive through without stopping. It’s a place where you wear jeans on the beach–and where you fall in love. That’s the memory that perfumer Anne McClain evokes with this airy scent. An oceanside mist pairs with musky and grassy notes to bring this love story to life.
I bought this based on the other reviews. I was extremely unsure, because I hate the idea of spending so much money on a crapshoot, but it is EVERYTHING the reviews said, in the best possible way. I wanted a scent that smelled like fresh cut wood and nature and the wind. I abhor sea scents, but this is my one lifetime exception to that. It captures the freshness of walking around in the woods with the ocean somewhere but you can't see it. It is rich and gratuitous while being light and guiltless. The scent tends to become, shall we say, subtle after a while, but I can still catch snippets of it in the second half of my day without a second application. I will definitely be buying the larger version when this one runs out.5
Bought this on a whim as I love all the notes it contains. Starts with a soft woodsy smell with a natural rose undertone, lingers with a soft cedar. Love the oil applicator, much easier to control than a spray. For a more natural scent, this definitely has staying power (plus, easy to throw in your make up bag!)4
I prefer perfume oils to anything alcohol-based, so this intrigued. Glad I took a chance based only on the description. It's not flowery or sweet, but it has a wonderful herbal, botanical scent. Outdoorsy! Crisp! Fresh! Mainey! Lasts quite a while, especially for an oil.5
i liked this because it came from a studio in brooklyn, i wish birchbox would carry more of her fragrances!
this is unlike anything else i've smelled, my boyfriend likes it too because it smells natural
I bought this perfume after having smelled it once at a store. I live in Maine and love it so much that I knew I would love the smell when I read beach roses and ocean mist in the description! It really does smell like a beach in Maine. I definitely want the spray bottle next.5
I was hoping for a nice, clean rose fragrance. This has a nice rose to it, but there is a sour, green, grassy, hay note that takes it over too much for me. I solved this problem by mixing it with a too-strong rose that I already have and now I love it!3
MCMC Fragrance is my favorite perfume and I own several and wear them daily. I love the rose scent of this one, it's not a traditional rose and the blend offers something unique. It's also a long lasting scent, and doesn't fade immediately, which I really value!5
