The hair experts over at 12 Benefits tell us that healthy hair gets its strength and shine from a combination of natural proteins and lipids (who knew?). When you subject your hair to too much chemical processing or heat styling, it tends to lose these precious compounds. Thankfully, this leave-in conditioning mist delivers a host of benefits to dry, parched hair—from boosting the vibrancy of your existing color to preventing future damage. Bonus: The light, clean scent lingers all day long.
The thing that turned me off most about this product is its smell. It's like a cross between bubblegum and a Bath and Body Works store smell. So if you want your hair smelling like a middle schooler's... go for it. I received Beauty Protector's version of this product last month and would recommend that over this one 1000 times.1
Let's start off with the fantastic parts of this product.
*It is extremely easy to use and only takes a small amount.
*It smells lovely
*The packaging is okay. The bright pop of pink is pretty but there's not much else to it.
*My hair has an amazing shine after styling with this product. My hair looks healthy and fantastic when I use it.
So where is the issue?
After I finish styling, about 30 minutes later, my hair is EXTREMELY greasy. I'm talking end of day 2, day 3 kind of hair. I have a mildly oily scalp but I use a cowash and only usually wash my hair 2 (max 3) times a week. I can't go more than 3 hours with feeling a desperate urge to get back in the shower and wash my hair. No matter what I do, this product leaves a horrible greasy texture in my hair.
I have untreated, thick hair with fine wavy strands. It is healthy and undamaged. I would say if your hair is coarser, dry, or damaged, then really give this product a try. Unfortunately, it just isn't for my hair type.
(On a side note, when I was using this product, my face was also breaking out more. I have beyond sensitive skin and I think the oils in this product were transferring from my hair to my face as well as being misted when spraying lightly into my hair. Keep that in mind as well)
Not a fan of this product. It makes my hair look very dirty. I have to try to only use it on the ends of my hair and then be careful not to brush it on to my scalp.1
This stuff made my hair feel super soft, but the next day in the shower when I was shampooing I noticed a serious residue that was hard to get off. You know when your hair feels dry in the shower or like... Sticky when it's wet? It's the worst. And so is this product. Don't waste your time!1
Made my hair thick and wavy hair frizzy, hard to brush. No appreciable benefits in softness or manageability. What a bust given that no one could love leave in conditioners and detangling sprays more than me. I'm really upset as I was hoping to use this mini sample as a leave in treatment for after the gym. I'm pretty sure it's the silk protein that made my hair coarse and brittle.1
I tried to use this product, the spray did not come out and it was goopy. My hair had more static than usual.1
This stuff smells like hair dye. Works like other leave in conditioners I've used.1
I have never had a problem with a leave-in conditioner like this one. I used it after shampoo and conditioner and before flat ironing my hair. It made my hair feel like straw and dirty (like I added wayyy too much texturizer or sea salt spray). I couldn't make it through flat ironing because my hair had so much texture and the iron wouldn't glide through my hair like it normally does. Also since it added so much texture it made my hair tangle like crazy. It went straight into the trash :(1
Product smells great. It gave a bit of moisture to my hair when I first sprayed it on but other than that I didn't see it do anything. Might as well be perfume for my hair. I have very dry hair and I didn't see any benefits from using this product.1
Good for a multi use leave in. Used it this past summer as a hair mask while at the pool. This kept my hair from getting dry and fried. Will purchase again1
