When you need a stiff drink to unwind, nothing should come between you and your spirit of choice. Unlike ice, which spurs you to throw back your rye before it gets watered down, pre-chilled Whisky Stones® won’t melt. Made from Vermont soapstone, the non-porous cubes won’t absorb or alter the essence of whatever you’re sipping. They’re an ingenious way to keep your spirit chilled and unadulterated.
He is a bourbon connoisseur and dislikes ice in his drink, but also likes cold bourbon. He stores his fancy schmancy bourbons in a glass case that he is just so proud of (and I'd love to move to a more hidden locale in the apartment), thus they are not refrigerated. I thought this would be an excellent gift, but he's not a fan. They are pretty heavy (as stone tends to be), and fly forward when tipping the glass back. Even doing so slowly does not prevent getting splashed in the face and generally it feels like the glass is going to break when they crash into the side. We have some pretty darn thick glasses, so I don't imagine that will happen, but they sit in the freezer unused since their first venture into beverages. I'll be thinking of other uses for them though!3
These work pretty well when you don't want to water down your beverage. I got these as a birthday present for my fiance and he loved them!
They come in a nice drawstring bag and they're the perfect go to gift for a guy you're not sure what to buy for.
I love to have a nice Scotch to wind down at night. The single cube was my way to go prior to this purchase. I just don't think these rocks give enough chill. I'm back to my single cube.3
These are good stones for your whiskey. The only bad thing is is that they get warm quickly. It helps to have the whiskey chilled when you use them. A plus is that with using these stones, your drink doesn't get diluted.3
When used as directed my drink felt warm after a few minutes. You're supposed to use three per glass. Nine stones come in a package so you can only enjoy three drinks.3
These will cool your whiskey down a bit, but even fresh from the freezer they really don't have a very noticeable effect. I would also suggest getting the largest size available because the small ones look rather silly.3
they were okay. don't think i could get used to not having ice in a drink. it would take me to swallow one. i'll have to pass, but they do work.3
I work at a bar and make whisky drinks all day, and drink a lot of whisky on my off hours and teroforma whisky stones don't get the whisky chilled enough for my liking3
I wasn't as thrilled by these as I thought I'd be. They don't really stay cold as well as I'd like and they don't really chill the whiskey much. You'd achieve the same effect by chilling the whiskey its self. I still like them when I want to cool off the booze, but it's not really a big deal and for a cold drink, you'll still need to use ice.3
the packaging is very easilydamaged and springs leaks very easily - ESPECIALLY when it is packed for travel. This is a big problem to open my dopp kit and find mosturizer all over everyting.4
