We’re not top chefs, but we sure know what tastes good. Just a little bit of this white truffle-infused olive oil will turn the most mundane dish delicious.
I love truffle oil and have purchased it many times from local grocery stores. However, this product is NOT truffle oil, and the quality is pretty bad. It smells very chemical and does not taste like normal truffle oil. I gave it as a gift and then was embarrassed by my gift when it was opened and I smelled it.1
The ingredients read "olive oil, aroma" - does that mean it's just synthetic truffle oil smell? It smells and tastes sort of chemically even with minimal amount. It will likely need to be thinned out carefully over something crispy and salty like pop corn, using it in mac and cheese etc may highlight the sort of chemically synthetic flavor. Hm... jury is out on this one3
I was hesitant to buy this because Birchbox isn't exactly known for it's cooking supplies but I'm so glad I did! A little drizzle of this stuff in chicken soup or on mashed potatoes takes them to a whole new level!5
I bought this one and the black truffle oil for my father as a gift. He loves to cook and has been having a great time testing these out on different dishes.5
Can't find truffle oil readily available in many places, but this one made for a great gift to my cooking obsessed sister. Tastes phenomenal and very well priced.5
This tastes amazing tossed with sea salt and pasta! I also bought the black one. Can't wait to try! Will definitely say a LITTLE goes. A LONG WAY!5
My husband is a huge fan of the truffle sensation. He orders anything if it has the word truffle in front of it. For his birthday, I ordered the black and white truffle oils. (I am not a fan). He LOVES both of them. Just a few drops mixed in the mashed potatoes or drizzled on grilled veggies transforms them to a yummy side you'd find at a nice restaurant. Don't be afraid to give it a try, just remember a little goes a LONG way!5
