Elizabeth Arden’s apricot-hued cream is such a classic, we think it deserves a display in the Smithsonian. Developed in 1930 by the beauty maven herself, the award-winning formula enjoyed instant global success and has never gone out of style. The creamy, multi-purpose salve not only hydrates dry skin, it adds shine to lips and lids, tames unruly brows, conditions cuticles, and even soothes minor scrapes and sunburns.
This is a great hydrating lip balm and for small extremely dry areas of skin. Lightweight and basically odorless, it leaves lip soft and hydrated for hours!5
Works wonderfully. It is very hydrating. I didn't feel greasy with it on my face!5
I've used this on my lips and cuticles. I gave the last of it to my daughter-in-law to use on the 4 year old grandson. He has licked the area below his lips until they were RAW. This cleared up the problem in no time. Who knew?!??5
This product has a nice scent that lasted all day when I used it! It felt thick and luxurious when I put it on and made my skin feel soft and moisturized all day.5
Great multi-purpose lotion. Worked wonderfully on my hands in these cold winter months.5
This product has been great in the dry Colorado winter months. I have tried it around my nose and on my eyebrows, it's a miracle worker.5
If you have ever used a rosebud salve like the one told at bath and body works or another this is very similar if not identical! It does smell a little stronger than rosebud salve which I didn't love but it was nice for my dry skin! Kinda like Vaseline5
I am a big Elizabeth Arden fan but was not familiar with this product until I received the sample. This is wonderful for lips! I also use it at bed time as an eye cream. This product is going onto my short list of products I will always have.5
I'd never heard of this salve before receiving it in one of the limited edition boxes I purchased. That being said, I absolutely love it!
I use it a few different ways.
1. As a lip exfoliant. I put it on my bare lips & using a toothbrush, in a circular motion, I scrub my lips for a minute or two. I leave it on for 5 minutes then wipe it off with a washcloth. My lips are so soft!
2. To soften my cuticles. After using cuticle oil, I put a little of the salve on my nail & rub it into my cuticles, I then put hand lotion on over it & leave it over night.
The salve has a bit of a rough texture so I don't know if I would use it in the place of a regular face lotion but it works great as an exfoliant or it can be rubbed into the skin before using a moisturizer.
When I opened my November 2017 Birchbox little did I know it contained the answer to my prayers! When I read the description of the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant (" The creamy, multi-purpose salve not only hydrates dry skin, it adds shine to lips and lids, tames unruly brows, conditions cuticles, and even soothes minor scrapes and sunburns.), it seemed too good to be true. I had all the issues that were addressed in the description and had been searching high and low for various products to heal all that ailed me, but NOT EVEN ONE of them came close (forget about the money that I wasted) to this "does it all" Skin Protectant. From the moment I sampled it I was blown away. My hands, my lips, my eyebrows and cuticles were finally soothed...remarkable! I highly recommend this product and will be a lifelong user.5
