Elizabeth Arden’s apricot-hued cream is such a classic, we think it deserves a display in the Smithsonian. Developed in 1930 by the beauty maven herself, the award-winning formula enjoyed instant global success and has never gone out of style. The creamy, multi-purpose salve not only hydrates dry skin, it adds shine to lips and lids, tames unruly brows, conditions cuticles, and even soothes minor scrapes and sunburns.
I have used the eight hour cream for years, and it has always worked wonders on my dry chapped lips. During high school and college swim seasons it was perfect for super dry skin, and is a winter time staple in my beauty regime.5
This is a great balm for healing skin that is stressed. I use it on cracked heels and peeling lips in the winter (it is great overnight), and year round, i use it on my cuticles. When I get sick and am blowing my nose a lot and end up with red, irritated skin on my nose, I put 8 hour on the irritated skin at night, and by morning it is soft and calm again. This is too thick for me for daily use but incredible at soothing and healing dry, irritated skin.5
I already use this product and love it. It is thick but a little goes a long way, especially when mixed with a moisturizer. I used this product when I used to ride motorcycles with my husband. I noticed a lot of women who ride motorcycles get that weathered look and I was determined to protect my skin. I mixed it with my moisturizer and applied it to my face and neck before applying my makeup. I then mixed it with my sunscreen and used it on all exposed parts like hands, arms, legs, etc. It kept my skin from getting beaten by the wind and from the pollutants in the air. We don't ride motorcycles anymore but we spend time outdoors in our open jeep so I will continue to use this product. I would recommend it for anyone who participates in any kind of outdoor sports, especially those that involve wind. I also recommend it for the whole family to prevent hand and cheek chapping on cold windy days, and at the beach after swimming to prevent chapping on the inner thighs. This product doesn't have an aroma, which I miss and would prefer it did. It is a great product.5
Great for my eczema. Also great for even burns or cuts.5
I would never apply this cream to my face, it is just to heavy. I would use it as I believe it is attended as a healing cream for damaged skin. I have been using this cream on my hands and lips and I love it. The smell is not so great but if you are using a little at a time no big deal.5
I pretty much love anything in this brand. Everything is always pretty reliable.5
I have been through a couple of tubes of this... used to keep it on my nightstand and put it on my lips before going to sleep. Will definitely purchase again. Taste takes a little getting used to but it is some really good stuff.5
I have the most insanely dry skin ever. Really. So dry that every winter is a series of chapping and flaking and cracked fingertips that hurt like you cannot believe. So when I say "This stuff works", you can believe it really, truly works.
Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream is the first product I have ever used that not only moisturizes my red, sore, cracked hands, it even keeps them moisturized all day so healing can finally happen. I have tried a bazillion different products, from expensive department store brands to cheap drug store ones. And none of them comes even close to the healing, moisturizing ability of this cream for my hands. It also worked beautifully on chapped lips, dry cheeks, and even eczema skin patches.
Yeah, it smells a little funky. But the scent grows on you after awhile, and I don't care if it is an odd odor since my fingertips and cuticles are no longer cracked for the first time since...I can't remember when. :)
This is a great product! I have such dry skin, cuticles, hands, and feet and after using this sample prodect I felt like it did what it said it would. 8 hours of protection and moisture. Yes the smell is not fruity or flowery but I take doing the job intended for over scent any day.5
I love this stuff! I put a small dab on a chronic dry spot on my elbow, and it completely healed it overnight. It has done the same to dry areas of my feet. It works wonderfully on dry cuticles and chapped lips. I'm ordering it now because I'm sure there are dozens of other ways I could use it. Also, I've barely made a dent in the sample. You only need a very small dab, so I know the tube will probably last for years!5
