Lip gloss vs. lipstick? It’s a debate that never gets old. While we love a bold, matte lipstick, we can’t deny the sheer, easy finish of gloss. Cargo’s new lip gloss—which comes in gorgeous hues like Big Sur, a mauve rose, and a shimmery pink called Woodstock—delivers the brilliant shine of a gloss, plus the long-lasting color of a lipstick. Bonus: It also keeps lips hydrated all day long.
I received a sample of the Cargo Route 66 lip gloss in my Birchbox and it's a really nice color but it is way too sticky.1
Great color, but Way too Sticky! Not comfortable to wear at all. Would not purchase after sampling. The color had subtle hints of fine glitter which could only be seen up close. If you like really tacky glosses this may be for you, otherwise try something else. :)1
I really enjoy lip glosses and even though this product is really smooth on the lips, I found it to be too shiny and the tint that I sampled was way off for my skin tone.1
I love lipgloss/lipstick but this one was super shimmery on and the color was pretty awful on me. Looked kind of cheap on, so definitely not something I would ever buy..looks alright on top of nude lipstick though.1
This lip gloss has a strong chemical flavor and leaves an unpleasant after taste after use.1
Didn't really like this lip gloss, it was too orange for me.1
Aside from the fact the color I was sent is not for me (neon red?), I think lip gloss is generally over the top and especially when an unnatural color is worn. You risk looking overdone. If I had to choose a lip gloss, it would be a thin consistency, shimmer-FREE, natural tone lip gloss. The idea is to enhance not mask... I prefer Nars matte lipsticks or Chanel's neutral lipglosses.1
I don't like the sticky feeling of lip gloss. I did like the way it smelled, and it lasted a long time.1
It had this weird taste I was not a fan of, I got the color "Route 66" and it was either an exact match to my natural lip shade or for some reason meant to just be a shiny, gunky mess, but it really didn't add anything for me.1
I received this sample in (I think) Sunset Boulevard, and instead of being a pretty peachy-pink color it ended up just looking orange on my lips. It highlighted any imperfections in my lips--I didn't even notice I had any until I put the gloss on! While it wasn't sticky, the color, uneven application, and weird appearance it gave my lips make it so I definitely wouldn't purchase this product. There are better glosses out there!1
